Job Description TITLE: Sponsorship & Sales Associate DEPARTMENT: Innovation and Advancement REPORTS TO: Senior Manager of Sponsorship & Sales POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The Sponsorship & Sales Associate is a dynamic, outgoing professional who is customer-focused, positive, productive, and highly motivated to “get the job done.” The Sponsorship & Sales Associate reports to the Senior Manager of Sponsorship & Sales but works closely with and supports the entire Member and Customer Success team. The role’s primary function is to take responsibility for post-sale follow-up tasks, administrative requirements, reports, filings, status updates, etc., and to assist with workflow to facilitate the delivery of products and services to customers and clients after a sale has been made. As a member of the Member & Customer Success team, they will contribute to the overall success of the team in all areas of responsibility, including sponsorship, exhibits, corporate membership and publication sales. In addition, they may be required to demonstrate how certain products and services work and will be responsible for making sure that the customers are satisfied with their purchases or financial investments. RESPONSIBILITIES: The following briefly describes representative responsibilities of this job, but it is not intended to be a complete or all-inclusive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of this position: • Works proactively to support the varying needs of the team., • Helps prepare and send sales literature, sponsor/exhibitor updates, correspondence, and any documents aimed at securing new accounts or enhancing current ones., • Answers telephone and email inquiries regarding all products and services offered by the Corporate Services team., • Required to handle administrative tasks such as answering phones, updating information on the website, typing sales letters, reports and proposals, and keeping track of sales-related records and progress reports., • As needed, update and enter data about customers or prospects into our database., • Assist with Sales as needed to help grow the brand across all categories., • Assist with other departments as directed with sales opportunities., • Assist with a growing customer base., • Assist the entire Member and Customer Success team to achieve revenue goals., • During Space Symposium and other events, deliver exceptional onsite customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally., • Assist with relaying inquiries and concerns from corporate members and sponsors during the Space Symposium., • Coordinate and support events by managing logistics, schedules, and onsite operations to ensure a seamless experience., • Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate communication, collaboration, and successful event outcomes., • Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Budgetary Responsibilities • This position does not have budgetary or financial oversight responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: The following briefly describes knowledge, skills, abilities and characteristics associated with this position, including any required experience, education, licensure, certification, or combination thereof: • A Bachelor’s degree in business, management, communication or related field is preferable, • Minimum 4 years’ work experience in marketing, contract management, business development administration is required, • Familiarity with the aerospace industry and/or related trade associations is desirable, • A demonstrated proficiency in using computers and related software applications, Internet research tools, reporting applications and various databases is required, • Superior knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and experience updating basic web site information and entering data, is required, • Working knowledge of HubSpot or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) products is preferred, • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Acrobat, • Event coordination experience preferred COMPETENCIES: • Ability to maintain a positive approach and be passionate about providing outstanding customer service, and must always be professional, courteous, resilient, and patient., • Due to the volume of interaction with external customers, this position requires poise, tact, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality when needed., • Prior experience providing customer support is critical to this position., • Highly organized and able to develop a strong understanding of the Space Foundation's mission and sales objectives., • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Maintaining close communications with team members at remote locations will be key to this individual’s success., • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new technologies and platforms., • Strong communication skills are essential. This person must be an expert listener and experienced note-taker, able to follow instructions, record important information, and interpret and describe a customer’s needs to the appropriate team member., • Accuracy and attention to detail are required in all aspects of the position., • Ability to calmly and effectively handle multiple competing tasks and demands. JOB STATUS: • FLSA Classification: This position is non-exempt according to guidelines of the Fair Labor Standards Act and, as such, an individual in this position is eligible to receive overtime pay., • Full- or Part-Time: This position is full-time in nature. An individual in this position will regularly work a schedule consisting of 40 hours per week., • Work Location: This position’s primary work site is the headquarters location in Colorado Springs, CO. The nature and responsibilities of this position are such that it is eligible for alternative worksite arrangements, such as working from home or telecommuting, on an occasional, infrequent and/or as needed basis. Space Foundation’s current hybrid policy allows for two work-from-home days per week., • Regular Schedule: The position's usual business days are Monday through Friday, and its usual business hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. in the time zone in which it is located.
