At Houston Methodist, the Transplant Recovery Nurse position leads organ procurement services required for transplantation and manages the peri-operative phase of recipient transplantation. This position serves as a mentor and resources for team members. The Transplant Recovery Nurse position reviews cadaveric donor organ offers, assesses clinical diagnostics, and evaluates case details with transplant physicians to determine suitability which includes the dissemination of pertinent transplant case information, providing clinical guidance to other departments, and full coordination of the organ recovery and transplant events. This position will assist the physicians in caring for the needs of the patients using specialized clinical knowledge and skills and will provide support for patient and family during the wait for transplant. The Transplant Recovery Nurse position will lead the organ recovery process according to transplant center protocol which includes meeting the supply, equipment, and transportation needs of the transplant team to ensure an optimal recovery environment. In collaboration with the physicians, this position will implement appropriate organ and tissue-specific preservation as requested. The Transplant Recovery Nurse position coordinates and communicates with all members of the Organ Procurement Organization (OPO), Houston Methodist (HM) recovery and transplant teams, and recipient candidate and family to ensure proper management of the organ recovery and transplant events. At Houston Methodist, the Radiologic Tech II position is responsible for a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic radiology procedures to include X-ray and Fluoroscopy (to include support for OR cases) exams of moderate to high complexity utilizing digital radiography and fluoroscopy techniques. This position is a member of the direct patient care team and is fully competent in all aspects of various radiology procedures. The Radiologic Tech II position serves as a mentor to the Radiologic Technologist I and students by utilizing skills and knowledge to help train and educate others. The Radiologic Tech II position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic radiologic procedures.
