Job DescriptionJob Title: General Production Worker Job Description Candidates will be fabricating and assembling plastic products, applying knowledge of working characteristics of plastics and bonding techniques, using precision instruments, hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment to manufacture foam products. Responsibilities • Operate various cutting equipment such as band saws, table saws, routers, and shapers; operate various mixing equipment., • Manipulate small tools such as micrometers, calipers, box knife, and exacto knife., • Spray materials (colors, adhesives, etc.) onto plastic/foam parts., • Cut, deflash, and fabricate various rigid and flexible foam parts., • Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently., • Must be a U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual)., • Strong references from former managers, specifically regarding attendance and reliability., • Ability to pass a criteria test (basic math skills and English comprehension)., • Willingness to join the Union after 90 days., • Consistent work tenure; no job hoppers., • At least 1 year of previous aerospace experience., • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day., • Attention to detail, with a focus on visual inspection and small detail work., • Capability of lifting up to 25 lbs consistently and 50 lbs occasionally., • Comfortable working around heavy machinery and operating machines., • High school diploma or GED., • Assembly experience., • Saw operation experience. Work Environment The work environment includes operating cutting and mixing equipment and requires standing for extended periods. The shift runs from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with the first two days starting from 7:30 AM. The dress code includes closed-toe comfortable shoes, pants or shorts to the knees, and long sleeves. The environment can be dusty due to the foam material, which sheds dust during cutting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tacoma, Washington. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
