EOE POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director and Assistant Program Director and Teacher in Charge the Teacher Assistant will be responsible for the organization of activities appropriate for participants physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth. The Teacher Assistant will be providing educational and engaging activities in safe environment for all of our participants within our after school childcare program. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to): · Manage groups of participants · Lead and/or assist in the implementation of curriculum plans · Facilitate a safe and productive learning environment for youth · Create a fun and visually appealing environment for youth · Model, enforce, teach and develop age appropriate social, physical and emotional behaviors · Employ positive behavior management strategies for disruptive and negative behaviors · Demonstrate positive leadership and act as a positive role model to participants · Perform set up and clean up duties every day in alignment with Department of Health regulations and UAU policies · Abide by all safety protocols as outlined by the Department of Health, DYCD and UAU · Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned JOB QUALIFICATIONS: · High School diploma or GED (Highschool Equivalency Diploma), required · Matriculated college student or better from an accredited university or college, preferred · 1+ year experience working with children, preferred · Must have a valid drivers license. · Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based perspective · Must be culturally competent - ability to understand, be sensitive to the needs of, communicate with and effectively interact with people across cultures and age ranges · Must pass reference checks and background as designated by DOH, DOE, DYCD and UAU · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Strong problem solving and mathematical skills · Excellent organizational and time management skills · Willing to take initiative and be flexible when needed · Excels working in a collaborative environment to achieve target objects and outcomes · Works well independently with minimal supervision, in addition to working in a professional atmosphere alongside youth between the ages of 5 and 11. · Detail-oriented and thorough. · Ability to interact with staff, families and participates while remaining professional, polite, and courteous. Responsibilities: • Install, inspect, test, clean, repair and program fire alarm systems according to industry standards and regulations and manufacturers’ recommendations. • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with fire alarm systems, including control panels, detectors, horns, strobes, and other components. • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, testing, and replacing batteries and devices. • Coordinate with clients to schedule inspections, maintenance visits, and repairs. • Complete all required paperwork, including work orders, inspection reports, and documentation for compliance with regulatory agencies. • Stay updated on advancements in fire alarm technology and industry standards. Requirements: • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or similar role – Preferred • Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, as well as local building codes and regulations - Preferred. • Experience with various types of fire alarm systems, including addressable and conventional systems - Preferred. • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Available for work during holidays, weekends, nights, and evenings. Willingness to respond to on-site emergencies within a four-hour timeframe when necessary. • Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Preferred Qualifications: • Certification from the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) or equivalent. • Experience with Honeywell, Simplex, EST, Notifier, or other major fire alarm system manufacturers. • Familiarity with building management systems (BMS) and integration with fire alarm systems. • Holding NYC FDNY issued certificate of fitness (S98 or S97) Benefits: • Excellent benefit package as per the industry standard • Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Title: Truck Drivers Primary Purpose of the Position: Food Bank for New York City’s truck drivers are reliable and dependable and represent the Food Bank in a courteous and professional manner while out on the road and in all dealings and contact with member agencies and partners, suppliers, and donors. Our drivers are required to use tact and diplomacy in all situations dealing with our partners and other team members and leadership. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Deliver and pick up produce, frozen and dry food products to member agencies, suppliers, donors and other locations as assigned. • Assists in loading trailer with materials. • Unloads trailer by using forklift or hand truck. • Transports loads over required route to proper destinations. • Obtains shipping bills and necessary signatures. • Returns completed paperwork to the warehouse office. • Removes empty pallets from trailer truck and carries them to designated piling area. • Performs miscellaneous service duties such as checking oil, water, gasoline and air in tires on a daily basis. • Other work-related and warehouse duties as assigned by supervisor or manager • Reliable and regular attendance is expected.
