Job Description Position Overview The Quality Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s quality systems to support zero-defect performance, enhance manufacturing yields, and ensure ongoing compliance with industry and customer requirements. This role requires strong analytical ability, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and quality-related concerns., • Coordinate Returned Material Authorization (RMA) activities, including review, disposition, and customer communication., • Generate, coordinate, and track corrective action reports (ICAR, CCAR, SCAR) to ensure timely and effective closure., • Conduct scheduled internal audits to support AS9100, Nadcap, and other applicable quality system requirements., • Oversee and maintain an effective calibration program for all required equipment and tools., • Maintain and update quality procedures, work instructions, and related documentation to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements., • Maintain required certifications including AS9100, Nadcap, IPC, MIL, and UL., • Apply SPC and MSA to monitor, evaluate, and improve process capability., • Participate in Technical Review Board (TRB) activities as needed., • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies., • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or similar industry., • Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control., • Strong understanding of quality systems and aerospace industry standards., • Working knowledge of current IPC, military, and customer specifications., • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards., • Proficiency in SPC, DOE, Cpk, MSA, GR&R, and related tools., • Effective collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment., • Strong technical writing, communication, and customer service skills., • Ability to review and interpret microsections., • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Access., • IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610 certifications required., • ASQ CQE or CQA preferred., • Familiarity with Discus and Net-Inspect for FAI reporting., • Ability to obtain Honeywell Source Certifying Agent (SCA) status. Physical Requirements • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally and 15 lbs regularly., • Comfortable working with tools that vibrate (e.g., grinders, drills)., • Willingness to work with chemicals (e.g., solder, resin) and fine debris from cutting/sanding tasks. Working Conditions • Possible exposure to chemicals, dust, and elevated noise levels., • Work in a clean room environment may be required., • Occasional on-call responsibilities, overtime, and off-shift work., • Travel within North America may be required.
