Job Description Job Title: Conveyor Technician Job Description This role supports the Operations Maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, automated conveyor systems, and pneumatic systems in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will perform predictive and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, and help ensure that automated packaging and distribution equipment runs safely and efficiently. Responsibilities • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on material handling equipment, automated conveyor systems, and related controls to minimize downtime and extend equipment life., • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective, timely solutions., • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability., • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to support diagnostics, repairs, and equipment installations., • Conduct diagnostics on material handling equipment systems, including conveyors and robotics, to identify issues and complete necessary repairs., • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create, update, and close work orders, document maintenance activities, and track parts usage., • Follow and demonstrate safety standards at all times, including adherence to equipment-specific safety procedures and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidelines., • Troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations and control systems, including PLC-based controls where applicable., • Run inspections and performance checks on complex industrial systems, documenting findings and recommending improvements., • Collaborate with operations and maintenance team members to prioritize work, coordinate downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives., • Support robotic operations, including basic troubleshooting and coordination with controls and robotics teams as needed., • Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are used and stored safely., • Participate in training and cross-training activities to expand skills in mechanical, electrical, and robotics systems. Essential Skills • At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on industrial or warehouse equipment., • At least 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls., • At least 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics., • At least 2+ years of knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical and electronic principles in an industrial environment., • At least 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards in maintenance or industrial settings., • At least 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment systems., • At least 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems., • Experience working with automated conveyor systems and material handling equipment., • Ability to complete preventative maintenance tasks accurately and on schedule. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments performing maintenance on complex systems and industrial equipment., • Hands-on experience running diagnostics, inspections, troubleshooting, repairing equipment, and creating work orders., • Specific experience with conveyors and other material handling equipment (MHE), including controls and robotics., • Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations systems., • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)., • Continuous improvement mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow within reliability, maintenance, and engineering functions., • Experience with MHE safety standards in accordance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and safety guidelines., • Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in mechanical or electrical fields., • At least 2+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical field., • At least 2+ years of experience working with PLC-based control systems., • Experience with robotic operation and support in an industrial or warehouse environment. Work Environment You will work in a large warehouse facility as part of a maintenance team of approximately 50–70 people, supporting automated material handling and conveyor systems. The operation runs across multiple shifts, providing flexibility in scheduling. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, with frequent interaction with conveyors, robotics, and other automated systems. You will use tools, diagnostic equipment, and a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as part of your daily work. The role involves working around moving machinery and in areas with steel structures and equipment. Typical attire includes durable clothing suitable for an industrial setting, with jeans commonly worn and steel-toe footwear preferred for safety. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Irving, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
