Job DescriptionJob Title: HVAC Maintenance Technician Job Description This role focuses on the installation, startup, maintenance, and repair of complete HVAC systems and related building equipment in a commercial and manufacturing environment. The HVAC Maintenance Technician applies advanced technical skills in ventilation and air conditioning, along with strong electrical and mechanical abilities, to ensure reliable operation of facility systems and a safe, comfortable environment for occupants. Responsibilities • Perform initial installation and startup of complete HVAC systems, including system components, electrical controls, and ducting., • Assist in the design, modification, installation, and preventive/predictive maintenance planning for HVAC and related building systems., • Monitor HVAC systems and operations and ensure routine preventive maintenance is completed according to established schedules., • Diagnose HVAC system issues and perform necessary repairs to restore proper operation., • Repair complete HVAC systems by repairing or replacing valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, piping, and other functional components., • Perform electrical and mechanical servicing and maintenance of HVAC systems in accordance with federal regulations and company policies and procedures., • Carry out maintenance tasks in other maintenance disciplines, including troubleshooting and repairing electrical malfunctions and assisting with machine maintenance., • Assemble, install, and repair machines, pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and sewer systems., • Perform alterations, repairs, and maintenance of buildings, including floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, screens, scaffolding, forms, wood fixtures, and furniture., • Troubleshoot and repair facility and building equipment, including diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues., • Apply advanced technical knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to installation, maintenance, and repair of ventilation and air conditioning systems in manufacturing plants and offices., • Participate as a member of the Emergency Response Team as required., • Report suspected and confirmed problems related to equipment, utilities, structures, and grounds to the immediate supervisor., • Accurately document maintenance and repair actions in equipment logs., • Use appropriate safety equipment and follow all relevant safety standards and procedures during maintenance and repair activities.Essential Skills, • 4–7 years of experience in HVAC maintenance., • Expert-level knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair in commercial and manufacturing environments., • Competence in electrical maintenance disciplines, including electrical wiring, electrical repair, and reading and interpreting electrical schematics., • Competence in general mechanical maintenance disciplines, including machine maintenance and repair., • Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues in facility and building equipment., • Ability to perform commercial building and facility maintenance, including work on ventilation and air conditioning systems., • Ability to perform electrical and mechanical servicing and maintenance of HVAC systems in accordance with federal regulations and internal policies., • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively., • Ability to use safety equipment required by Title 29 CFR 1910, all parts., • Current and valid state and city licenses required for HVAC work., • Valid State of Oklahoma driver’s license., • Ability to provide and properly use basic hand tools., • Ability to work more than eight hours per day and five days per week when required., • Ability to walk, stand, use hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and use close vision and depth perception frequently as part of daily duties., • Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Minimum 2-year Associate Degree or completion of a technical school program in a relevant field., • General knowledge of industry standards and government regulations related to HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair., • Experience with commercial building maintenance and facility maintenance., • Experience troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of facility and building equipment., • Ability to travel occasionally between facilities by driving., • Comfort working both independently and as part of a team, including participation in an Emergency Response Team., • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation of maintenance and repair activities in equipment logs.Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a commercial and manufacturing facility environment that includes HVAC systems, building equipment, and production-related machinery. Typical training occurs on first shift, generally from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with subsequent assignment to either a second shift (approximately 2:30 p.m. to midnight) or a weekend shift (Friday through Sunday, roughly 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., working 36 hours and paid for 40). The role may require working more than eight hours per day and more than five days per week when needed. The work involves frequent walking, standing, using hands and arms to handle and manipulate tools and equipment, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and using close vision and depth perception. You will frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds. Occasional travel by driving between facilities is required, and in some locations you must be able to ascend and descend stairs. While performing job duties, you will frequently be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. Noise levels can range from loud to moderate, and appropriate personal protective equipment is used in accordance with safety regulations. Clothing and footwear should be suitable for an industrial maintenance setting and compatible with required safety gear. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Tulsa, OK.
