Job Description Title: Night Auditor Department: Rooms FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Shifts: Overnight 10:00PM - 7:30PM / 2 to 3 Days - MUST WORK FRIDAY & SATURDAY Education & Experience: • High School Diploma or GED certification and equivalent work experience required., • Certification preferred: Certification as required by franchise., • Previous Supervisory experience in a hotel environment preferred., • Must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers, and other associates., • Oversee and participate in guest registration and check out procedures., • Assist Reservations and Sales management with the implementation and execution of programs to ensure that the hotel’s room occupancy and Average Daily Rate objectives are met., • Balance and audit for accuracy all room revenue, food and beverage revenue and telephone/internet revenue; assist in the preparation of all reports relevant to daily revenues., • Balance and audit for accuracy all room and tax charges, cashier’s reports and guest and house accounts., • Complete and transmittal of daily management and accounting reports and supporting documents; prepare customer tracking report, market segmentation report, food and beverage revenue report necessary to ensure the accurate accounting of hotel revenues and expenses., • Communicate with other hotel departments as necessary to resolve accounting discrepancies and to request or provide information., • Perform all Guest Service Agent functions as required; assist in booking room reservations and creating any new reservations as requested., • Process cancellations and no shows for the day, ensuring accurate tracking and posting of applicable fees., • Maintain and update airline books/ledger, ensuring accurate billing and reconciliation for airline contracts and distressed passenger arrangements., • Respond to OTA (Online Travel Agency) website requests and messages in a timely and professional manner., • Perform all Guest Service Agent functions as required; assist in booking room reservations; in answering hotel phone calls and notifying guests of messages; facilitate proper security of department keys., • Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction., • Analyze and generate reports and communicate information to associates and appropriate departments., • Assemble, track and interpret financial and operational plans for the rooms department, to include the annual hotel budget., • Have full knowledgeable of hotel property, amenities, area attractions and transportation options., • Maintain correct procedures for hotel accounting, credit control and handling of financial transactions., • Knowledge of all emergency procedures., • Strive to increase the level of guest satisfaction by sharing all guest service data provided by the brand on a consistent basis. Set goals for improvement of low scoring items., • Respond quickly to guest requests or complaints in a friendly manner and appropriate action is taken. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction., • Be familiar with all brand specific programs and the procedure., • Be knowledgeable about the accident prevention program, including safety committee, education/enforcement, and communication of safety issues., • Be able to effectively investigate, report and follow-up on any guest accidents., • Attend/conduct all training/meetings as required by management., • Must be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying concerns and issues raised by associates and guests., • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of a particular need., • Must be able to prioritize departmental functions to meet due dates and deadlines., • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic function., • Long hours sometimes required, including nights and weekends., • Light work-Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects., • Ability to stand for long hours at a time, sometimes for entire shift.
