Job Description Thomas Kerns McKnight, LLP is a detail-oriented and experienced California Bankruptcy Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bankruptcy law, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional client service. Responsibilities: • Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related documents., • Conduct thorough research and analysis on bankruptcy case law and procedural issues., • Prepare and review financial documents, including income statements, balance sheets, and budgets., • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information, provide updates, and answer questions regarding their cases., • Manage and organize client files, ensuring all documents are accurately maintained and easily accessible., • Draft and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings., • Monitor case deadlines and ensure timely filings and responses., • Collaborate with attorneys and other staff to ensure smooth case progression and effective client service., • Must be fluent in both English and Spanish, • Paralegal certificate or degree from an accredited institution., • Minimum of [X] years of experience as a bankruptcy paralegal, preferably in California., • In-depth knowledge of bankruptcy law and procedures, particularly Chapters 7, 11, and 13., • Previous experience as a paralegal or other legal field, • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions, • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and with accuracy., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
