Job Description Clinical Support Specialist Full-Time | Evening Shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) Location: South Sacramento Pay: $25.00 per hour FLSA Status: Non-Exempt About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Clinical Support Specialist (CSS) to support patients in a recuperative care environment where individuals experiencing homelessness can safely heal from acute and chronic illnesses. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on patient care experience who is passionate about serving underserved populations in a high-impact, team-based setting. The CSS plays a critical role in patient monitoring, medication support, care coordination, and communication with nursing and multidisciplinary care teams. What You’ll Do • Monitor patients and perform vital signs; promptly report changes to nursing staff, • Support patient self-administration of medications (“medication calls”) with accurate documentation, • Assist with medication inventory, delivery verification, and audits, • Coordinate medical appointments, refills, and medical supplies, • Conduct admission intakes, patient screenings, and discharge support, • Document patient observations and progress in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), • Communicate patient needs, symptoms, and concerns to care teams, • Support health promotion and patient well-being initiatives, • Maintain facility safety, housekeeping support, and bed census monitoring, • Work collaboratively with medical, behavioral health, and substance use treatment teams, • Provide care in a high-acuity, trauma-informed environment, • Work evenings, weekends, holidays, or alternate shifts as needed Required Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent, • Minimum 1 year of patient care experience (medical, behavioral health, or substance use treatment setting), • Medical Assistant or CNA training/certification required., • Strong documentation, organizational, and communication skills, • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EPIC preferred), • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams, • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress or emotional situations, • Experience supporting medication self-administration with detailed documentation, • Current BLS Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days, • Commitment to HIPAA, infection control, and professional ethics, • Demonstrated passion for serving diverse and underserved populations Work Environment & Physical Requirements • Medical clinic and recuperative care setting, • Frequent standing, walking, and patient interaction, • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs, • Exposure to individuals in crisis, substance use, and bodily fluids may occur Benefits & Perks • Competitive hourly pay, • Medical, dental, and vision benefits at reduced cost, • Company-paid life insurance and long-term disability, • Retirement plan with company match (no vesting schedule), • Paid time off, sick leave, and 11 paid holidays, • Paid jury duty and bereavement leave, • Flexible Spending Account (FSA), • Company-paid malpractice insurance, • Annual professional development hours Equal Opportunity Employer We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
