Position Summary: The Market & Competitive Intelligence Specialist is an early-career professional passionate about understanding people, markets, and business strategy through data and research. This role blends consumer closeness with analytical rigor, supporting the MI team in monitoring trends, competitors, shoppers, and emerging opportunities. The Specialist learns to apply both quantitative and qualitative research methods, supports business model and go-to-market analyses, and contributes to the design and delivery of insights that guide marketing, innovation, and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities: * Support ongoing monitoring of consumer trends, preferences, and behaviors through primary and secondary data sources. * Participate in the design and analysis of surveys, focus groups, and social listening to bring the consumer voice into decision-making. * Contribute to shopper, channel, and customer analyses—identifying how buying behaviors and retail dynamics shape category growth. * Assist in setting up and running both quantitative (surveys, tracking, modeling) and qualitative (diaries, interviews, immersion) studies. * Gather, clean, and analyze data in Excel, Power BI, or SPSS; support advanced modeling under analyst guidance. * Track competitor activities, innovation pipelines, pricing, and positioning using syndicated and public data. * Work cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and product teams to address tactical and strategic intelligence requests. * Build proficiency across consumer research, data analysis, business model understanding, and storytelling. Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred but not required). * 1–3 years of experience in consumer research, data analytics, or competitive intelligence (internships count). * Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to accuracy and context. * Working knowledge of Excel and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau); exposure to SQL, Python, or R a plus. * Clear communication and storytelling skills—able to translate findings into meaningful implications. * Curiosity about consumers, markets, and how businesses grow; desire to learn both data science and strategic frameworks. Preferred Requirements: * Coursework or experience in market research, behavioral science, or strategy consulting. * Familiarity with syndicated and digital data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, Circana Euromonitor, Mintel, social listening tools, Survey Platforms). * Interest in consumer goods, food & beverage, or innovation-led industries. * Demonstrated initiative and collaborative mindset. The base salary for this position is between $55,000.00 and $69,000.00 per year. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for additional compensation and benefits, including an annual incentive bonus, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, PTO/FTO, and a 401(k) plan with company match.
