Job DescriptionFederal Construction - Project Manager (Traveling) Construction Project Manager - Federal Projects (Traveling Role) Location: Traveling - Various Sites Across the U.S. Employment Type: Full-Time Travel Schedule: Rotational Assignment Schedule with Planned Home Time A well-established federal general contractor with a national presence is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead large-scale, mission critical federal construction programs across the United States. This is a traveling role operating on a structured rotational schedule, offering consistent home time while managing some of the most complex federal construction projects in the country. Current and upcoming work is located at secure federal installations including Tinker AFB, Fort Smith, Ellsworth AFB, and F.E. Warren AFB, with additional programs nationwide. These projects represent major federal investments with long durations, high visibility, and significant technical complexity. This opportunity is ideal for Project Managers who have led federal or public-sector programs valued at 50M and above and are comfortable owning large scopes, managing multiple stakeholders, and executing work in highly regulated environments. What You Will Do • Manage large-scale federal construction projects from award through closeout on multiple U.S. sites, • Take full ownership of high-dollar programs, typically 50M and above, with multi-phase scopes, • Oversee all disciplines including civil, architectural, structural, MEP, and finishes, • Ensure compliance with federal contract requirements, specifications, safety standards, and quality programs, • Develop and manage master schedules and recovery plans for complex, schedule-driven projects, • Lead subcontractor procurement, major trade buyout, and contract administration, • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and contract modifications, • Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and turnover on operational federal facilities, • Serve as the primary project interface with government representatives, inspectors, and design teams, • Manage budgets, cost controls, cash flow, and long-range forecasting, • Support preconstruction planning, phasing strategies, logistics development, and proposal efforts as needed, • Travel to project sites on a predictable rotational scheduleWhat We Are Looking For, • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager delivering large-scale commercial, public, or federal construction projects, • Direct experience managing construction programs valued at 50M or greater, preferably in the federal space, • Proven success leading complex, multi-discipline, schedule-intensive projects with large teams, • Experience administering government-funded contracts; federal experience strongly preferred, • Strong command of construction means and methods, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration, • Demonstrated ability to lead large subcontractor teams and manage work across active job sites, • Experience working in secure, regulated, or operational environments, • Proficiency with Procore and standard construction scheduling tools, • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, • OSHA 30 required, • PMP or similar credential is a plusProject Types, • Large-scale military installations and federal facilities, • Secure, mission critical government environments, • Multi-phase renovations and ground-up construction, • Long-duration federal infrastructure and modernization programsWhy This Opportunity, • Pipeline of large federal programs typically ranging from 50M to 200M and above, • Structured rotational travel model with planned and reliable home time, • Opportunity to lead complex, high-visibility federal construction programs, • Long-term federal clients and repeat program work, • 401k Matching, • Life Insurance, • EAP, • Company Equipment, • Generous PTO, • Rotational Schedule (Paid Travel), • Monthly Stipend/Housing/Vehicle Allowance - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
