This role will be based in Pennsauken, NJ. WHAT WE NEED The Manager, Plant Quality will provide leadership and manage the execution of sterile processing, quality and food safety systems and programs across Baldwin’s Pennsauken Aseptic facility. This position will manage all plant quality and sanitation personnel and is responsible for ensuring product safety and quality while meeting both internal and external regulatory standards. This position is also responsible for ensuring reduction of quality attribute variation to improve run ability and address customer concerns. WHAT YOU WILL DO • Lead and execute Baldwin quality programs throughout the plant including laboratory method development and sampling programs., • Responsible for ensuring the plant properly execute procedures to ensure product sterility, food safety and regulatory compliance (FSMA, HACCP, GMP, Pest Control, Allergen and Chemical Control, LACF, environmental monitoring, etc.). Ensures all processes are documented and standardized., • Coordinate and manage with Corporate Quality Manager, all plant inspections, customer quality audits, and external quality audits (FDA, CDPH, SQF, Kosher etc.) and communicate results and corrective action plans to senior leadership., • Manage all Process Deviations, Process Filings & interactions with Process Authority, Regulatory Agencies and customer expectations., • Manage Sanitation team and ensures that Master Sanitation Schedules are followed., • Ensuring that all CIP Operators are properly trained and perform all Sanitation activities on time., • Responsible for ensuring accurate documentation, records, and compliance with validation and filings. Ensuring adequate and efficient change management., • Conducts internal audits to continually assess compliance and makes recommendations for system improvements and staff training., • Identify quality improvement strategies and implement data-based solutions across the plant., • Work in close cooperation with Corporate Quality and R&D to develop, implement, and maintain quality systems in support of new product development and commercialization., • Oversee general microbial testing, environmental monitoring, and qualification activities (Raw material, In-process, Product and Shelf-Life product testing and critical utilities monitoring)., • Conducts internal audits to continually assess compliance and makes recommendations for system improvements and staff training., • Identify areas for process improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance product quality and operational efficiency. Analyze production data, identify trends, and implement preventive measures to minimize defects and non-conformities., • Leads with Quality Supervisors all RCCA and problem solving with regards to plant quality related issues. Responsible for implementation of preventative and corrective actions., • Serves as the main point of contact for customer non-conformance complaints., • Provides leadership in coaching, education, and development of plant quality staff. Responsible for performance management process and KPI deliverables., • Ensures all plant personnel have been trained in Baldwin and regulatory quality policies and requirements., • Monitor industry trends and emerging issues within food safety and quality to keep Baldwin on the leading edge of change., • Leads QA team support for Plant Sanitation activities including inspections and data analysis. WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Microbiology, or related discipline with 10+ years of Food Industry Experience., • Minimum 10 years’ experience with HACCP, SQF, GFSI, FDA and/or USDA audits., • 5+ years of people management experience., • Experience working with Aseptic Processing of Low Acid food hermetically sealed containers, strongly preferred., • Experience working with regulatory inspections and responding to regulatory inquiries., • PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) and HACCP Certification required., • Food Defense Qualified Individual and Intentional Adulteration training required., • Better Process Control School Certified – Including Aseptic Proccing Module is highly preferred., • FSVP (Foreign Supplier Verification Program) training preferred.
