Job Description Boiler Operator: High Pressure Boiler Systems – Provide 24/7/365 services to operate and maintain the plant utility high pressure steam boiler systems for the Manufacturing Production building, including all ancillary equipment systems in the boiler house, mechanical piping system infrastructure, and other peripheral equipment systems as noted below. High pressure boiler systems are to be operated and maintained in accordance with applicable Federal, State of New Jersey and local laws, regulations, and industry best practices. • Operation and routine maintenance of two (2) Cleaver Brooks 250HP high pressure steam boilers including all associated ancillary systems (DA tank system, condensate tank, expansion tank, heat transfer package, chemical feed and monitoring systems, pumps, filters, motors and controls, etc.). Operation and maintenance is to be performed in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, OEM service vendors, industry best practices, and our client’s management., • Boiler operator personnel must comply with and possess corresponding in good standing, New Jersey State issued licensure for the operation of high-pressure steam boilers., • Ensure all boiler house certification requirements are maintained up to date and in compliance with New Jersey State regulations., • Perform routine checks (water quality, chemistry, exhaust, consumption, etc.). Ensure activities in the boiler house are documented in accordance with New Jersey State authority., • Preventive maintenance schedule and predictive maintenance techniques are to be performed in accordance with New Jersey State applicable regulations and requirements and our client’s preventive maintenance procedures to maintain compliance., • Report any abnormal condition as well as recommendations regarding boiler operations system, health, and efficiency., • Perform appropriate documentation to comply with New Jersey State authority requirements. All daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual reports and checklists to be adhered to 100%., • Coordinate maintenance, repair, and inspections of equipment with vendors, local audit authorities, and our client’s management as required. Provide advanced notification and details of shutdown requirements to our client’s management. Support and coordinate efforts for scheduled production shutdown events to maintain timelines for maintenance target completion dates., • Ensure warranty and certification is maintained when maintenance/repair is required. Ensure records of all repair work performed is accurate and complete as per vendor service agreement and our client’s procedures., • All preventative maintenance and repair work to be processed through the EAMs computer maintenance management system., • Provide recommendation for adequate number of critical inventory spare parts., • Provide standard operating procedures (SOP) for normal operating conditions as well as emergency conditions for the boiler operation., • Support coordination, planning and execution of quarterly, semiannual and annual PMs with our client’s management and specialty maintenance vendors. Ensure all work is completed and vendor documentation is accurate and complete. Additional Maintenance Activities: Perform routine daily operation, inspection, and periodic preventative maintenance for the following systems: • Perform Daily/Shift Status Inspection Check List for Manufacturing Building Utility Systems., • Wastewater Treatment System operation, chemical refilling, inspection, and routine maintenance (supplies by our client)., • Soft Water System (2) – Perform scheduled and routine maintenance, water quality monitoring, coordinate softener salt delivery and replenishment (salt supplies by our client)., • Compressed Air System - (Two air compressors, two air dryers, receiver, and line filter system). Perform daily routine checks and filter inspection/replacement., • Chilled Water and Condenser Water System – Perform daily/shift routine system status inspections and periodic lubrication of pumps and motors., • Condenser Water System – Perform routine system status inspection, scheduled preventive maintenance and minor repairs., • Emergency Generator Operation & Inspection – Coordinate and perform scheduled system inspections and conduct operational testing requirements of emergency generators in accordance with local and New Jersey State DEP regulations., • Coordinate and perform monthly scheduled system inspections and operational start-up testing., • Maintain accurate records of operation in accordance with NJDEP air emissions permit requirements., • Inspect fuel levels and coordinate with our client on refueling needs. Supervise refueling vendor deliveries and ensure service is completed and documentation is accurate and complete for filing., • Support coordination, planning and execution of quarterly, semiannual, and annual PMs with our client’s management and specialty maintenance vendor.
