This field-based role is singularly focused on ensuring that every TLE location across the NY Metro area operates at the highest standard of safety, regulatory compliance, and brand quality. Youll serve as TLEs on-the-ground compliance leader in one of the most highly regulated childcare markets in the country. With oversight from NYCs Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), and the NYC Department of Education (DOE) for pre-K programming, our NY centers face a complex and evolving regulatory landscape and this role exists to ensure we dont just meet those standards, but set the bar. This is a high-visibility, high-impact position for someone who believes that operational compliance isnt just about passing inspections its about protecting children, empowering center teams, and building trust with families every single day. What Youll Do • Conduct regular onsite visits, walkthroughs, and formal audits across all TLE centers in the NY Metro area to assess compliance with DOHMH Article 47, OCFS Part 418-1, NYC Health Code, and TLE brand standards, • Serve as the primary point of contact for all NYC and NYS regulatory matters including licensing renewals, DOHMH inspections, DOE compliance for pre-K/3-K programs, and corrective action plans, • Identify compliance risks proactively and implement mitigation strategies before they become violations, • Partner with center directors and regional leadership to coach, train, and develop staff on compliance protocols, safety standards, and quality delivery, • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation including inspection records, licensing files, incident reports, and compliance tracking systems, • Prepare clear, actionable reporting for leadership on compliance trends, risk areas, and improvement opportunities across the NY Metro portfolio, • Monitor regulatory changes at the city, state, and federal level and translate them into practical operational guidance for center teams, • Respond to compliance-related incidents with urgency, thoroughness, and sound judgment, • Collaborate cross-functionally with training, HR, and operations teams to recommend and implement process improvements, • Build and maintain strong relationships with DOHMH inspectors, OCFS contacts, and other regulatory stakeholdersWho You Are, • 5+ years of experience in childcare operations, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, or licensing ideally within New York City or New York State, • Deep working knowledge of NYC DOHMH Article 47, OCFS Part 418-1, and NYC Health Code requirements for childcare programs, • Experience navigating DOE compliance for Universal Pre-K (UPK) and 3-K programs is a strong plus, • Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Public Health, Business Administration, Compliance, or a related field, • Track record of conducting audits, managing corrective action plans, and driving centers through successful regulatory inspections, • Strong coaching and communication skills you can translate dense regulatory language into clear, actionable guidance for frontline teams, • Highly organized with excellent documentation habits and comfort with compliance tracking tools and reporting software, • Self-directed, able to manage your own schedule across multiple site visits while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment, • Genuine passion for child safety and early childhood education qualityWhy Join The Learning Experience, • Dedicated NY Metro focus no national travel, you own this market, • High-impact role at a time when compliance and quality in childcare have never mattered more, • Opportunity to shape compliance culture across a growing portfolio of centers, • Work alongside leaders who believe that doing right by children is non-negotiable, • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement
