Job Description Our Bridge Group works on a wide range of projects including bridge and retaining wall design, dams, storm and traffic structures, inspections, rehabilitations, load ratings, and construction engineering support. We facilitate designs on transportation projects that include grade separations, interchanges, and stream crossings for public and private clients throughout the Midwest. As the Bridge Group Leader, you will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and managing a team of bridge engineers and technicians while providing technical oversight and strategic direction for bridge and structural projects. This role blends technical expertise, people leadership, and project delivery with a focus on quality, collaboration, and client service. The Bridge Group Leader plays a key role in developing staff, ensuring consistent design standards, supporting business development efforts, and fostering a positive, high‑performing team culture aligned with Olsson's values. We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of Overland Park, KS or St. Louis, MO office locations. Qualifications You are passionate about: • Working collaboratively with others., • Having ownership in the work you do., • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required (Master's degree a plus)., • Professional Engineer (PE) license required., • Minimum of 8 years of experience in bridge and/or structural engineering., • Experience delivering projects for MoDOT, including familiarity with agency standards, specifications, and procedures, preferred., • Prior experience leading teams, mentoring staff, or serving in a technical leadership role preferred., • Strong technical knowledge of bridge design, inspection, rehabilitation, and applicable codes and standards., • Proficiency with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications., • Experience using bridge analysis and design software such as LARSA, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, LPile, SPColumn, and/or MDX., • Working knowledge of MicroStation for plan development and review., • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines. #LI-IC1 Additional Information Olsson specializes in engineering and design, client advisory services, planning, field services, and environmental.
