Job Description Job Overview The Afterschool Program Director is responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, and managing afterschool programs at the Community Center. The Director works closely with a wide variety of public and private agencies to ensure the service delivery network meets the basic needs of the youth population and reflects the objectives and intent of the funding sources. Must have experience in developing and planning operational procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment for School Aged Children programs following Office of Child & Family Services guidelines. Responsibilities • Oversees the program compliance of the facility and program operations with all New York State Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) according to all current School Age Child Care regulations (SACC), • Provides oversight necessary to ensure that all programs comply with stated objectives and achieve quality standards. Ensures compliance with all state, federal & funder regulations., • Provide oversight to subordinate staff, reviews the work products of others to ensure conformance to standards, • Identifies afterschool program needs among a specific population and determines appropriate responses to those needs, • Research and recommend program expansion opportunities., • Identifies potential program funding sources and aids in the preparation of funding requests, • Works with other public and private agencies to facilitate program implementation, • Develops and recommends new or changes to existing policies and procedures, • Works with the Executive Director and CFO in preparing and monitoring program budgets, • Evaluate programs in relation to afterschool program needs and complying with funder requirements., • Assist in staff recruitment and general HR operations, as needed, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems, • Implementing & monitoring participant statistics databases, which includes attendance / demographic information and completion of necessary reports., • Marketing programs to clients in our service area & partner agencies, • 5 years of experience working in childcare, • 3 years supervisory experience in a childcare position, • New York State School Age Care Credential Preferred, • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related fieldCompany DescriptionOur community center is a publicly accessible facility that serves as a hub for local engagement, support services, and collective activities.
