Job DescriptionJob Title: Engine Mechanic Job Description This role focuses on testing, troubleshooting, and repairing hydraulic, electrical, and gasoline/diesel engine systems on a variety of mobile and automotive-style equipment. You will perform detailed diagnostics, complete mechanical and electrical repairs, and prepare equipment for relaunch to customers, while working from schematics and technical documentation in a clean, well-organized shop environment. Responsibilities • Test, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues on hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and gasoline/diesel engines., • Perform repairs and refurbish equipment, including gas and diesel engines and related components., • Set up, configure, and detail hydraulic, gas, and diesel engine systems before relaunching equipment to customers., • Utilize electrical and hydraulic schematics to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical problems., • Assemble equipment and components as needed to support repair and rebuild activities., • Grind knives, blades, and similar parts to required specifications when needed., • Complete demonstrations and walk-throughs on preowned and leased equipment to ensure proper operation and customer understanding., • Follow shop procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards during all repair and maintenance work., • Use and maintain a personal set of basic hand tools in good working condition., • Work overtime as needed, including some Saturdays, to meet workload and customer demands.Essential Skills, • Skilled in repair and maintenance of mobile or automotive equipment., • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical systems on equipment., • Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems on equipment., • Ability to diagnose both diesel and gasoline engines using appropriate methods and tools., • Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics., • Hands-on experience with engine repair, engine maintenance, and engine overhaul., • Strong troubleshooting skills for both electrical and mechanical issues., • Mechanical aptitude with experience working on small engines and larger gas/diesel engines., • Ability to work from blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams., • Ability to work with cables, wiring, and electrical components safely and accurately., • Possession and use of a basic set of hand tools suitable for mechanical and electrical work.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience assembling mechanical and electrical equipment., • Experience with grinding knives, blades, or similar cutting components., • Comfort working with hydraulic schematics and electrical schematics for diagnosis and repair., • Ability to build, adjust, and fine-tune equipment prior to customer delivery., • Strong attention to detail when setting up and detailing equipment for relaunch., • Willingness to work overtime, including some Saturdays, when required.Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a first-shift, full-time role with hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overtime is regularly required, and you should be comfortable working on Saturdays when needed. Work takes place in a very clean, well-organized shop that is presented as a show-quality environment. The facility uses fans and is actively improving airflow; however, it is not a climate-controlled environment, so temperatures can vary with the seasons. You will work hands-on with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment, using schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and standard shop tools and machinery throughout the day. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DEERFIELD BEACH, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
