Career Team is looking to hire an Employment Specialist who is experienced in workforce development to serve clients and lead workshops of the Pathways for Access to Careers and Employment Workforce Development Program (PACE) Team. The approach of the PACE Program emphasizes that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for clients needing education and or training support. This role requires expertise in coaching, facilitation, and teaching to welcome clients into the program and prepare them for employment through engaging instruction and orientations. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The Employment Specialist role is an integral part of our team and will assist us with our mission of accelerating the human condition! Career Team also offers a competitive package including: • 401k with a generous employer match;, • medical, dental, and vision insurance with an employee-sponsored HSA on any qualifying plans;, • disability insurance;, • supplemental insurance;, • Lead orientation for clients referred to Career TEAM and introduce the program in an engaging format, • Facilitate job readiness and financial counselling sessions for program clients, • Conduct interviews and assessments with clients to understand their career aspirations, technical skills, soft skills, and areas for improvement, • Utilize Career EDGE to provide training sessions to enhance clients' soft skills, including communication, time management, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities, • Facilitate mock interviews, provide feedback, and offer coaching to clients to help them succeed in real job interviews, • Build and maintain strong relationships with employers, advocating for clients and showcasing their strengths during placement discussions, • Collaborate closely with the Outreach Specialist and Case Managers on the transfer process after completing orientation and ensure a seamless transition, • Maintain accurate records of orientation, financial coaching, training sessions, client progress, job placements, and employer engagements, • Stay informed about industry trends, job market dynamics, and employer expectations to provide relevant and effective support to clients, • Prepare and deliver reports on training outcomes, job placements, and success stories to demonstrate program effectiveness and impact, • Approach each day and task with a "ZAG" mindset, • Bachelor's degree or higher and a minimum of 2 years of successful, similar experience, • Willingness to complete the CUNY Consumer and Personal Finance Course, or an equivalent course approved by DCWP/OFE, • Experience teaching target populations with low levels of literacy OR willing to attend and complete pre-service orientation and staff development activities before preforming teaching responsibilities, • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and Google suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Drive, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment, • Public speaking skills to give presentations and orientations that are engaging and productive, • Experience working with culturally diverse populations and at-risk individuals, • Exceptional time management abilities, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure, • Willingness to uphold company's core values and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, • Experience and or knowledge of workforce development programs and financial counseling, • Strong multitasking abilities and a proactive approach to tasks, • Training in trauma-informed care, evidence-based practice, and/or whole family services Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-exempt Employee About Career TEAM: Founded in 1996, Career TEAM, LLC is a private workforce development organization.
