SUMMARY The Logistics Supervisor assumes responsibility for direct supervision of a team of laboratory logistical support staff, overseeing day-to-day performance, scheduling, packing, shipping, and planning team workload, developing, and implementing processes, and facilitating training and performance management. The role is responsible for ensuring their team consistently meets internal customer service, timeline and revenue targets assigned by management, holding direct reports accountable for target achievement. In partnership with departmental management, this position owns the logistics team processes, including purchasing, inventory management, shipping/receiving and is accountable for ensuring they meet customer and business needs. Also collaboratively, they are responsible for effective resource allocation and contingency planning to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual team targets, sustaining regular communication with management and stakeholders. This position will ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, State Departments of Health, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), EMEA and FDA Guidelines, general State and Country Regulations such as but not limited to (CLIA, CAP, USP, ISO 9001, USDA regulations, HTA license, DEA and State Controlled Substance programs) where site appropriate. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. . • Supervises employees in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; supporting managers/directors in performance appraisals; reviewing weekly timesheets and time-off requests; providing regular feedback, and setting individual goals aligned with team and department goals., • Responsible for effective and efficient team performance, ensuring adherence to company quality, customer service and timeline standards, reallocating resources and implementing contingency plans when targets and timelines are threatened. Holds responsibility for schedule and resource planning to achieve departmental goals, and accuracy of inventory data., • Accomplishes work assigned to self and the team through delegation and performance management, planning and organizing work assignments, packing and shipping, and ensuring staff accountability. This position directly contributes to work function., • Responsible and accountable for cross-department communications to ensure support work meets customer needs, maintaining consistent and timely communication with stakeholders., • Holds self and staff accountable for meeting management-assigned targets, achieving internal and external customer service and timeline standards., • Responsible for regular communication with management, consistently reporting on team performance and progress towards team goals. Ensures communication related to managed team, including cascading appropriate management initiatives and updates to staff, and keeping management informed about team successes, roadblocks, and challenges., • Takes ownership of streamlining inventory management, purchasing, and shipping/receiving processes for entire facility, recommends processes improvement solutions to management and implements in accordance with management direction., • In collaboration with departmental management, assumes responsibility for ensuring all team staff receive adequate scientific and process training to foster team growth and support achievement of production and revenue growth targets. ON-SITE REQUIREMENTS: Position required to be on site at the Memphis, TN location. TRAVEL: This position may require up to 5 % travel over the course of a year. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience • High school diploma required, • Minimum of 3 years in a laboratory logistics/order fulfillment setting;, • Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs including MS Office, • Good understanding of structure, function, staffing, and logistics needs in a commercial laboratory., • Familiarity with ERP systems, shipping/receiving, customer order fulfillment and OSHA/DOT regulations., • Scheduling, planning, prioritization, and time-management skills essential The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
