Job DescriptionWhat is it for you: • Delivering MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection) solutions for 90+ years., • Serves diverse sectors: K-12 & higher education, healthcare, senior living, hospitality, recreation., • Handles 100+ projects annually—from small office fitups to multi-million-dollar facilities., • Convenient Pittsburgh location with free parking., • Outstanding benefit packages and a people-first work environment, • Stable, growing company with tremendous opportunity for career advancement, • Serve as the primary design lead for assigned projects with minimal to no supervision, • Apply in-depth knowledge of discipline-specific engineering concepts and industry standards, • Maintain direct communication with clients, architects, contractors, and vendors, • Supervise, guide, and support assigned design and drafting staff, • Coordinate activities and deadlines with the Project Manager / Project Coordinator, • Review project scope of work and applicable codes for compliance, • Prepare and review engineering design documents, drawings, and specifications, • Perform and review design calculations using applicable software, • Use AutoCAD and/or Revit to document and communicate engineering design intent, • Review submittals, shop drawings, substitutions, and close-out documentation, • Prepare bidding addenda, construction cost estimates, and technical responses, • Research and respond to RFIs during bidding and construction, • Attend design meetings, site visits, and construction job meetings, • Prepare or assist with site visit reports and punch lists, • Coordinate and manage field surveys for existing conditions and construction support, • Convey design intent to support staff and review their work for accuracy, • Ensure all work is accurate, thorough, well-organized, and meets company standards, • Assist in maintaining and updating standard documents under Department Head direction, • Work efficiently to support company profitability while maintaining quality, • Demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and accountability in meeting project deadlinesExperience You Will Need:, • College degree in Engineering or a related technical field, • Experience performing engineering design with independent responsibility, • Experience working directly with clients, contractors, and design teams, • Experience supervising, mentoring, or providing guidance to junior staff, • Experience preparing construction documents and technical reports, • Experience responding to RFIs and resolving construction-related issues, • Familiarity with construction administration and field coordination, • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
