Job DescriptionFlux‑Core Welder (AWS D1.1) — Chattanooga, TN Pay: $31–$34/hr (based on experience) A strong, employer‑ready job posting that attracts certified welders and filters for the right skill level. Position Overview A Chattanooga‑based manufacturing operation is hiring an experienced Flux‑Core Welder to join a high‑performance fabrication team. This role focuses on structural welding, heavy‑steel fabrication, and production of high‑quality assemblies that meet AWS D1.1 standards. Key Responsibilities • Perform FCAW welding on structural steel components and heavy equipment parts, • Interpret and work from blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings, • Prepare materials, set up weld joints, and maintain proper weld parameters, • Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and compliance with AWS D1.1, • Operate fabrication tools including grinders, torches, and cutting equipment, • Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow all company safety procedures, • Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to meet production goalsRequired Qualifications, • AWS D1.1 certification (current or previously held), • Strong proficiency in Flux‑Core (FCAW) welding on heavy steel, • Ability to pass an in‑house weld test, • Experience reading blueprints and weld symbols, • Reliable attendance and ability to work in a fast‑paced environmentCompensation & Schedule, • $31–$34 per hour, depending on experience and test performance MIG welding, flux core, AWS D1.1 Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
