The Director of Accounting oversees all accounting operations across the Company and Merchant Services business lines, ensuring the completement, accuracy, and integrity of financial results. The role includes full responsibility for accounting close, technical accounting policies, internal control design, general ledger integrity, cost allocation, and expense management. This role will drive continuous improvement, build a public company caliber control environment, and partner closely with the CFO and Director of Finance & Reporting to ensure financial information supports both external reporting and internal profitability management. Essential Duties: • Contributes to process improvement by identifying inefficiencies and offering solutions within workflows., • Drives team performance by setting clear goals, monitoring results, and implementing strategies to exceed targets., • Supervises, coaches, and develops staff including conducting performance evaluations, taking corrective action and providing ongoing feedback and mentorship., • Collaborates with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support company initiatives and strategic objectives., • Oversees all accounting operations for the Bank and Merchant Services lines of business., • Oversees accounting for merchant settlement flows, interchange and processing revenue, network/vendor fees, and reporting., • Oversees daily cash and liquidity management functions., • Ensures accurate reconciliations and proper linkage between the core banking system, merchant platforms, and the general ledger., • Partners with Operations, Product, and other teams to implement accounting for new business lines and products., • Ensures compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, SEC requirements, and internal policies., • Leads organization-wide expense accounting, governance, and spend oversight., • Develops and maintain the Company’s cost allocation approach for accounts payable, fixed assets, accruals, and operating expenses, ensuring appropriate attribution across products, functions, and business lines., • Evaluates and evolve the general ledger and departmental structure as the Company grows and new business lines are introduced.?, • Partners closely with the Director of Finance & Reporting to ensure allocations align with internal profitability reporting and external financial statement presentation.?, • Oversees accruals, prepaids, vendor spend integrity, and contract cost compliance.?, • Strengthens accounts payable, travel and expense, and reimbursement workflows to enhance control and auditability., • Provides insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance and projections., • Supports strategic planning and budgeting processes., • Designs, implement, and maintain SOX-ready internal control frameworks, policies, and process documentation.?, • Drives the development of control ownership, testing documentation, and evidence requirements suitable for SEC environment.?, • Leads readiness activities for external audits and ensure robust control over financial reporting., • Stays current on changes in SEC regulations, GAAP, and other financial reporting requirements and best practices., • Manages the annual external audit, including coordination of timelines, deliverables, and auditor communication.?, • Leads the accounting workstream during regulatory examinations, ensuring readiness of supporting documentation and consistent communication of accounting positions.?, • Manages internal audits related to accounting processes and internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), ensuring findings are addressed promptly and control design evolves as the business scales., • Research, document, and implement new or complex accounting standards under U.S. GAAP.?, • Develops accounting position memos for complex transactions and advise leadership on accounting implications for strategic decisions., • Partners with external advisors as needed to ensure alignment with best practices., • Leads and develop a high-performing accounting team, establishing public-company–level performance standards., • Drives team performance by setting clear goals, monitoring results, and implementing strategies to exceed targets., • Supervises, coaches, and develops staff including conducting performance evaluations, taking corrective action and providing ongoing feedback and mentorship., • Collaborates with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to support company initiatives and strategic objectives., • Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement., • Ensures team compliance with internal policies and procedures, regulatory guidelines, and industry standards., • Embodies the TRAC Values and Critical Behaviors (Teamwork, Relationship, Authenticity, Commitment) as core principles, using them to guide daily interactions and decision-making., • Completes administrative tasks with a sense of urgency, including required Bank Compliance Training.
