Job Description About Cresthill Academy: Cresthill Academy is a premier childcare center in New Jersey, offering programs for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. With locations in Hoboken, East Hanover, Lyndhurst, and Harrison, we provide a holistic, organic approach to early education. Our progressive curriculum begins in infancy, featuring music and movement, science explorations, and more. We also offer an all-organic meal plan for children on table food, freshly prepared by our Cresthill Culinary team. What We’re Looking For: We are seeking a qualified and dynamic Lead Teacher for our classroom. The ideal candidate will be: • Energetic and resourceful, skilled at using a variety of materials to engage young learners., • Highly organized, with strong classroom management skills to maintain a positive and productive learning environment., • Prepare children for kindergarten by guiding them into a structured and organized learning environment., • Develop and implement creative, developmentally appropriate programs for preschoolers., • Support the social and emotional growth of children to ease their transition to the next level of education., • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and clean classroom environment., • Collaborate with an assistant teacher and delegate tasks to enhance classroom efficiency., • Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, colleagues, and management., • Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate Circle Time activities., • Create and deliver developmentally appropriate lesson plans that foster curiosity, creativity, and practical skills., • Support children’s play, exploration, and learning through interaction and guidance., • Provide a balanced mix of teacher-directed and child-directed activities., • Track children’s progress and prepare assessments., • Uphold Cresthill Academy’s Core Values, educational standards, and program guidelines., • Comply with all applicable childcare laws and regulations., • Ensure classroom equipment is properly maintained., • Maintain appropriate child-to-teacher ratios at all times., • Pursue ongoing professional development and continuing education., • Minimum of 2 years of proven experience working with preschool children in a daycare or early childhood setting., • Bachelor’s degree preferred; will also consider an Associate’s degree in Education or a related field, or a current CDA certification., • Strong understanding of child development principles and preschool educational methods., • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills., • Passion for working with young children., • Company-paid health insurance for employees working 30 or more hours per week., • Accrued paid time off starting on your first day of employment., • Opportunities for professional development and training., • Clear room for growth within the company., • Holiday pay and inclement weather pay., • HSA, FSA, and commuter benefits., • Discounted childcare.
