Job DescriptionSalary: Price Electric is a growing, nationally ranked ABC Top Electrical Contractor which seeks a Prefabrication Manager with lean manufacturing expertise to enhance its prefabrication operations for industrial, commercial, and mission critical projects. The Prefabrication Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of electrical prefabrication operations in Robins, Iowa, to support field construction activities nationwide. This position ensures high-quality assemblies, optimizes workflow, and fosters continuous improvement for safe order completion on time and within budget. Success in this role requires strong leadership, oversight, and team development; technical and operational excellence; inventory and material strategy; safety practices; scheduling and execution; quality assurance and compliance; process discipline; and communication and collaboration. To drive innovation, efficiency, and productivity across all prefabrication operations, the Prefabrication Manager's primary responsibilities include: • Overseeing all activities for the prefabrication and preassembly of electrical systems, • Evaluating and improving systems, processes, and technologies to enhance production quality and throughput, • Directing and managing the daily operations of the prefabrication department, ensuring output aligns with project requirements and company standards, • Training, managing, mentoring, and assessing prefabrication team members and promoting a culture of safety, quality, and accountability, • Leading by example in safety policy and practice adherence and maintaining a hazard-free work environment, • Attending prefabrication page-turnings and working with Preconstruction leadership to create project budgets, • Interpreting construction documents, electrical schematics, and technical drawings, • Reviewing prefabrication designs for required material and procuring all non-primary vendor material, • Creating and managing prefabrication schedules that align with construction milestones and deadlines, • Reviewing prefabrication orders and selecting applicable SOPs, construction techniques, packaging methods, and shipping processes, • Ensuring a steady, efficient production flow that aligns with project schedules, minimizes downtime, results in high workstation utilization, and achieves timely delivery of prefabricated components to job sites, • Utilizing lean principles to achieve waste reduction initiative goals and planned 5S audit scores with high team engagement in identifying and solving inefficiencies, • Managing material, tool, and equipment usage, accounting for lead times, availability, storage, and adjustments, • Establishing and upholding rigorous quality control standards for all prefabricated assemblies which include compliance with electrical codes and project specifications, • Conducting regular inspections and documentation audits to verify adherence to quality standards for minimal rework or defects, • Completing prefabrication orders consistently within or below estimated labor hours and material costs, • Coordinating with BIM Techs, Construction Engineers, Project Managers, and field leaders regarding schedules, expectations, modifications, and issue resolutions, • Monitoring and communicating key performance indicators, capacity outlooks, schedule adherence, and inventory trends to leadership, • Updating a two-week lookahead daily while being flexible to occasionally allow for some influx of field staff, • Following company core values to adapt, continually learn, solve problems, be professional, and remain focused on building success for our people, projects, and partners Job experience and qualifications include 7+ years of experience in the fabrication industry or production planning and scheduling, with at least 2 years in a leadership role to have gained strong technical knowledge of fabrication processes and procedures; familiarity with lean manufacturing processes, quality control standards, safety regulations, and fabrication tools, machinery, and material handling; proven management skills; and strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, organization, and CM and/or ERP systems, MS Office software, and planning/scheduling tool usage skills. Desired education and experience include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related field and experience in configure-to-order manufacturing.
