We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. What You Will Do We are currently hiring a Test Architect Engineer responsible for the test strategy and architecture on the Tomahawk Portfolio for 6 different sub-programs. This leader will develop, maintain and ensure the test strategy is optimized to meet program end-goal objectives. The role requires critical interaction/event planning with the Chief Engineers, software team and system integration and test team with a focus on test processes, embedded test, factory operations, and other functions. The person fulfilling this role will also be mentoring junior Test Architects on the Tomahawk portfolio and thus must be experienced in surface launched testing. If you’re passionate about what you could accomplish here, we’d love to hear from you Responsibilities to Anticipate: • Perform systems engineering or integration, verification, and testing to ensure the system under test performs according to design, specs and/or requirements, • Perform data collection activities, including review and assessment of data elements, and provide detailed reports of results, • Trace and/or correct faults in mechanical or electronic systems., • Create/modify documentation in support of reviews associated with formal testing, which include Test Readiness Review (TRR), Consent to Ship (CTS), and Test Data Review (TDR) packages, • Support field testing, which includes occasional travel, • Generate CR, CN, or VARs, complete data package and take to board (ERB/CCB), • Monitor / manage upcoming tasks; assign resources, • Collaborate actively with CAM, IPT, TA, CE, attend weekly meetings to provide status, needs, • As Section Lead, you will perform in the role of direct supervisor to all section members with responsibilities including leading section members through the performance development process, career guidance, problem resolution, training plans, absence management and timecard approvals., • You will perform in the role of direct supervisor to all section members with responsibilities including leading section members through the performance development process, career guidance, problem resolution, training plans, absence management and timecard approvals., • Section Lead role is anticipated to be approximately 20% of the work week, with the remainder of the work week charged to program contracts, within the Naval Air Missiles organization Qualifications You Must Have • Typically requires Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and eight (8) years prior relevant engineering experience OR a Masters degree in STEM and a minimum of five (5) years relevant engineering experience, • Experience in a leadership role., • Experience presenting to leadership and peers., • Must be a current member on a program for either Systems Engineering or Systems Integration and Test in the Naval Air Weapons Department commensurate with the P/M-4 level., • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. Qualifications We Prefer • Systems Engineering or Systems Integration or Platform Integration and Flight Test Experience, • Experience with telemetry hardware and software, as well as telemetry data analysis tools, • Experience with troubleshooting and failure root cause definition, • Knowledge of Lab / test equipment, • Experience creating requirements, checkout procedures, Test Plans, Test procedures and Test Reports, • Experience creating and submitting technical data packages for review and approval, • Experience with Flight testing/operations in fighter/bomber aircraft, • Experience with Flightline Operations and munitions handling around fighter/bomber aircraft, • Experience in a technical leadership role, • Experience presenting to leadership and peers, • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a geographically dispersed team, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Previous experience with career development and personal skills development of team members, • Past engineering experience working in a matrix organization comprised of multidiscipline design teams across multiple projects with rigorous design disciplines, • Experience with EVMS (Earned Value Management System or similar budget tracking system), • Knowledge with the Performance Development Process., • Experience with our Proposal Capture Process (development of compliant Basis of Estimates, and White Sheet Development)., • Experience with the Estimate at Complete (EAC) process and Engineering Labor Forecasting (ELF) System., • Knowledge with business and program improvements through process improvement methodologies., • Experience using CAMEO for developing and linking requirements to test procedures., • Development of integration, verification, and validation planning documentation of integration and test plans, procedures, reports, status reports, and other related documentation., • Experience and interest in working with lab equipment and measurements. The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
