Job Description General Ledger Accountant (Hybrid Remote, Full Time) Location – Remote (Preference for candidates near Seattle or Federal Way, WA) Schedule – 30 hours per week Compensation – $35.00 to $42.00 per hour (DOE) About Doyon Government Group Doyon Government Group (DGG) provides design-build and general construction services for demolition, new construction, renovations, repairs, and civil projects at government-owned facilities and military installations. Position Overview The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing core accounting functions, and supporting compliance with state, local, and corporate requirements. This role is central to monthly close, reconciliations, and analysis, while also contributing to budgets, financial planning, and audits. The position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a background in multi-entity accounting, general ledger functions, and state/local tax compliance. This is a remote, part-time role (30 hours per week) with preference for candidates located near Federal Way, Washington. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation, • Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies, • Manage accounting activities across multiple companies and states, • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets, including additions, disposals, and depreciation, • Oversee lease accounting in compliance with current standards, • Assist with preparation and filing of state and local tax returns (SALT), including gross receipts and other state filings, • Support month-end close, corporate consolidation, and financial reporting, • Prepare financial reports for executive leadership and Board of Directors meetings, • Contribute to budgets and long-term (5-year) strategic financial plans, • Conduct financial analyses to support decision-making and identify cost-saving opportunities, • Provide documentation and timely responses during audits, • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, • Minimum 5 years of general ledger or related accounting experience, • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and general ledger principles, • Experience in multi-entity, multi-state accounting and consolidations, • Familiarity with state and local tax (SALT) compliance and research, • Proficiency in financial reporting systems and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling), • Strong organizational and communication skills, • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment, • Hourly Pay: $35.00–$42.00 (depending on experience, education, and certifications), • Schedule: 30 hours per week, remote work, • Benefits Package Includes:, • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, • Flexible spending account (FSA), • Employee assistance program (EAP), • Group and voluntary life and disability insurance, • 401(k) retirement plan, • Paid time off (PTO) This role offers the opportunity to work in a flexible, part-time, remote capacity while contributing to meaningful government and military projects.
