Department/Unit: Renal Transplant- M3 Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $83,200.00 - $93,184.00 Manage patients with Primary diagnoses include pre and postoperative surgical patients with a focus on the renal transplant patient, simultaneous pancreas/kidney (SPK) transplant patient, pancreas after kidney (PAK) transplant, patients with End Stage Renal Disease requiring access for renal replacement therapy, and patients requiring peritoneal dialysis and/or telemetry monitoring. D5N is a 21 bed neurosciences unit with one level of care. We take patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, brain tumors, aneurysms, seizures, traumatic brain injuries, neuromuscular diseases and other diagnoses involving the neurologic system. The floor beds consist of patients requiring every 4-hour monitoring. Additionally, there are 7 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) beds embedded in the 21 neuro floor beds. These patients are seizure disorder patients admitted electively with their anti-convulsant medications on hold and hard wired to continuous EEG. This allows the physicians to identify the area of the brain where the seizures are occurring. Many of these patients become candidates for brain mapping with surgically placed grids to further pinpoint the area causing the seizures. This mapping allows the surgeon to determine if the patient would be a candidate for surgical removal of parts of the brain to stop seizure activity and still allow the patient to have functionality. The nurse-to-patient ratio for floor patients is typically 1:5. Department/Unit: Medical/Surgical Cardiac Hospitalist - D4N Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $88,192.00 - $136,697.60 The Registered Professional Nurse assesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements and manages the needs of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge, including during transitions within the acute care stay. The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the delivery and coordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team. S/he assures that competent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided to customers including referring facilities, hospital staff and patients in the inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings. Hourly Range: $34.65 - $35.69 · Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures and special tests, and document treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations. · Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' conditions. · Assesses and evaluates patient needs for, and responses to, care rendered. · Applies sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions. · Provides primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses. · Administers over-the-counter and prescription medications as ordered. · Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients. · Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing. · Graduate of a professional academic nursing program in which a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree is conferred. · Must hold current NYS Registered Nurse license. · Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). · Previous experience as a PCA or other nursing assistance preferred. · Ability to improve job performance through continuing education. · Possesses knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques and demonstrates ability to apply in support of departmental and patient care quality improvement. The Medical Cardiology unit is a 29-bed unit consisting of 1 private room, 13 semi-private rooms and one 4 bedroom. Patients are received from the Emergency Department, Cardiac Catheterization Lab, CCU, MICU, physician offices, and other facilities when inpatient admission is necessary. The patient population served includes male and female, acute and chronically ill patients with a variety of cardiac and medical diagnoses. Most patients admitted to the unit require telemetry monitoring after receiving minimally-invasive and invasive cardiac procedures.
