Description of Job The applicant must have relevant building maintenance skills including, plumbing, electrical, boiler, roof, windows as well as minor plaster and painting. Must be a dynamic, creative, self-starter with experience in all basic building systems (domestic water pumps, hot water, sump pumps etc, heat exchanges, cooling towers, fire and safety as well as electrical systems) as well as willing to undertake tasks such as light bulb replacement, snow removal and other duties deemed necessary by the Resident Manager. Responsibilities include general maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness to ensure the facilities and equipment in the building are in good working order at all times. Other Responsibilities: • Janitorial maintenance (cleaning facilities as needed), • Builds and repairs cabinets, counters, closets etc. as needed Making minor electric repairs, plastering and painting as needed, • Minor plumbing which includes fixing leaks, washers, minor pipe replacements Repairs entrance and internal doors, locks, hinges, • Reporting any concerns to management Perform daily walk throughs of the mechanical spaces and building grounds, • Perform and complete work orders through BuildingLink, • At least 5 years' experience in residential buildings and experience interacting with tenants Proven experience as handyman, • Experience with hardware tools, electrical equipment, and power tools, • Understanding of BMS, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems such as: Chillers, cooling towers, heat pumps, gas boilers, pumps, • General carpentry knowledge/skills, such as: hanging doors, cut holes and hinges on doors, trim, crown molding, deck and framing skills., • Must be able to effectively communicate (oral and written) with all employees, contractors and vendors, • Dependability, good manners and excellent communication skills, • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. The Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center seeks a highly qualified Postdoctoral Research Fellow to develop, validate and run High Resolution Mass Spectrometry-based quantitative drug and exposomics assays in support of the care of patients with obesity and diabetes and in support of patients with psychiatric disorders. The ARPA-H funded project is part of a multi-institutional effort (IndiPHARM) led by Dr Gary Miller from Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health. The project itself is led by Drs Serge Cremers, and Alex Lyashchenko who will be overseeing the activities of the fellow in the Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology Laboratory of the Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. The work is to lead to several scientific publications and will provide a unique opportunity for clinical pathologists and clinical chemists to gain experience in the development of highly complex mass spectrometry assays and their application in patient care. For other MDs, PhDs, and/or PharmDs with experience in this area, the work not only provides a unique opportunity to develop highly complex mass spectrometry assays for patient care, but also an opportunity to be trained as clinical laboratory director and clinical pharmacologist. Job Function: Develop, validate and implement High Resolution Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (Exploris-120)- based panel assays to quantify drugs, metabolomic and exposomic markers in blood of patients in support of their care. The panel assays are to be approved for patient care by NY State Department of Health. The panels are focused on drugs, metabolomic, and exposomic markers relevant for treatment patients with diabetes and obesity and for the treatment of patients with psychiatric diseases. Note: A fully trained CBPO is eligible for up to $45,000 in overtime pay in addition to the starting salary. Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and education, and duty location of the opportunity. This is a career ladder position with a grade level progression of GS-5, GS-7, GS-9, GS-11, and GS-12. You will be eligible for a promotion to the next higher grade level (without re-applying) once you successfully complete 52 weeks in each grade level. Promotions are at the discretion of the agency. Qualifications: You qualify for the GS-9 grade level in one of the following ways: experience, education, or a combination of both. Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes: Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using the proper law enforcement methods. Enforcing the laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and/or international shipping to and from the United States. Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats and perform risk assessments for violations of laws and threats to national security. Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity for the purposes of gaining information from suspected violators of laws to determine the appropriate course of action. The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Ability to make rapid, accurate judgments and decisions with respect to the application of the regulations, instructions, and procedures for importing and exporting merchandise to and from the United States; or enforcement and administration of laws relating to the right of persons to enter, reside in or depart from the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Education Substitution: A master's (or higher) degree, or two or more years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university; OR Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of specialized experience AND successfully completed graduate-level education. Formal Training : You will be required to complete a paid pre-academy orientation for approximately two (2) weeks at your home port. You will then attend a 101-day training program – CBP Field Operations Academy – conducted at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) located in Glynco, GA. This training consists of basic law enforcement skills, immigration laws, firearms training, examination of cargo/bags/merchandise, physical fitness, etc. Candidates assigned to the southern border, Miami, or Puerto Rico duty locations must attend and pass an online Spanish training program, which will be completed at their home port.
