Job Description Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant Responsibilities • Attend required meetings, orientations, and trainings as directed by the charge nurse and facility management., • Clean and tidy resident rooms and assigned areas each shift, ensuring all spaces and items remain orderly, sanitary, and properly labeled according to facility policies., • Assist with nutrition by serving meals in a timely manner and promptly reporting any changes in dietary intake or appetite to the charge nurse., • Respond to call bells immediately when observed, regardless of patient assignment, and ensure each patient has easy access to the call bell at all times by placing it within reach., • Maintain resident safety at all times by observing and correcting environmental hazards, using protective devices as ordered, and following all emergency, fire, and disaster procedures as taught., • Report to the charge nurse any items that need to be ordered, repaired, or are missing, helping to ensure adequate supplies and functioning equipment., • Document all care provided on the appropriate forms accurately during the shift and complete required documentation at the end of each shift., • Provide high-quality customer service to residents, families, and visitors, demonstrating professionalism, patience, and respect in all interactions., • Follow directions from the charge nurse and promptly report back with updates, changes in resident condition, or completion of assigned tasks., • Support overall healthcare operations, including use of facility systems such as SigmaCare, to contribute to efficient and coordinated resident care. Essential Skills • Certified Nursing Assistant certification from an accredited program., • At least 6 months of experience working in a similar healthcare or skilled nursing setting, with openness to entry-level candidates who are bilingual in Spanish., • Knowledge of basic medical terminology relevant to patient care., • Demonstrated patient care skills in a rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or comparable healthcare environment., • High level of customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, families, and staff., • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with the charge nurse and interdisciplinary team., • Ability to follow directions accurately and report back to the charge nurse with clear, timely updates., • High attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate documentation of care provided., • Patience, compassion, and the ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced care environment., • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft applications., • Ability to work the 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. full-time shift and reliably work at least every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Work Environment This role is based in a 705-bed rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility in Northern Manhattan dedicated to providing quality care and supporting the health and independence of individuals requiring short- or long-term care. You will work a full-time 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. shift and must be able to work at least every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday). The environment is clinical, fast-paced, and highly collaborative, with close coordination among nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, and support teams. You will use computers and healthcare software, including Microsoft applications and systems such as SigmaCare, to document and support care.
