Job Description In addition to the duties set forth below, the Employee agrees that s/he will perform all the other duties that are assigned by his/her supervisors, the school’s Principal and the Principal’s designees, and/or the Board of Trustees, including, but not limited to: • Taking all steps required by the School to ensure that the Employee becomes highly qualified and certified which includes holding a bachelor’s degree, full-state certification or licensure and otherwise authorized to teach in a public school in the state of employment (charter rights should be included);, • Being present and engaged from 7:00AM- 5:00PM Monday through Friday each week of the school year;, • Providing appropriate supervision of students during class, breaks, meals and transitions to maintain an optimal work environment and to ensure students’ safety and well-being;, • Attending and participating in events outside of normal school hours as needed (e.g., family nights, student performances, field trips, report card nights, Teacher - Parent Conferences, June and August Family Saturday Orientations, etc.)., • Researches, designs, and/or documents standards and curricula for art for students in grades K-4/5-8., • Ensures a coherent and enriching art experience for students., • Teaches Art to all students in the school Monday-Thursday each week of the school year., • Teachers after school enrichment two days per week if included in the school’s programmatic offerings., • Designs, supervises, and implements all aspects of the Art program, including coordinating with outside providers and vendors, maintaining records, participating in required trainings and certification processes, etc., • Assists in the purchase and maintenance of the school’s Art equipment., • Provides, during summer training, an orientation to all staff on the school’s art program, including transitions, standards, appropriate singing, integration, Friday plays, winter holiday celebration(s), arts as a student motivator, arts as an avenue to increase parent involvement, and collaboration and team projects., • Assists the Director of Operations/Dean of Students in coordinating the school’s annual winter holiday celebration(s), weekly Community Meetings, and Stepping Up celebration(s)., • If requested, teaching at least 1 section of Reading each Monday-Friday each week of the school year;, • Provides instruction in the schools’ core reading program (Reading Mastery) and in other subjects as needed;, • Works with classroom teachers to ensure the integration of academic instruction into Art instruction, particularly Core Knowledge social studies and science curricula., • Participates in the collaborative curriculum development process., • Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues., • Engages families in their children’s education, including involving families in periodic student Art concerts., • Participates actively in department meetings, faculty meetings, and other meetings., • Meets the school’s “Standards for Excellence in Art Instruction” and “Standards for Excellence in Instruction”, • Consistently demonstrates alignment with the school’s core values and educational philosophy., • Leads by example on how to hold oneself accountable first for student mastery of academic standards, • Manages the department folder on the school server and ensures that curricular materials are well-organized and easily accessible for both current and future teachers., • Meets with the Principal to review results and plan future actions., • Completes all necessary school-wide duties for the successful and orderly functioning of the school. Job Description The Apprentice Teacher position provides a unique opportunity for talented individuals with limited or no teaching experience to explore the field of education and to gain hands-on practice and the training necessary to become a successful full-time classroom teacher. Apprentice Teachers will have an opportunity to observe best practices in classroom instruction and education reform from experienced teachers and school leaders at a leading charter management organization. Apprentice Teachers observe and learn from Master Teachers, co-teach with teacher-leaders, provide in-house substitute teaching coverage for teachers, and support teachers with tutoring, grading, and individual or small group student instruction. Depending on school needs and candidate background, Apprentice Teachers may also teach their own class of students, allowing for direct teaching experience within a more limited teaching load. Apprentice Teachers will also assist with a variety of work inside and outside of the classroom, including teaching Enrichment classes, organizing student events, and developing mentoring relationships with students. Requirements: Essential Duties and Responsibilities · Travel to and work in the Rochester Telesca Center office is required to meet client and organizational needs. o This position is eligible for a hybrid work request under the organizational policy. · Provide administrative and technological support for the Chief Legal Officer’s (CLO) role as General Counsel, including confidential administrative support to senior leadership on labor relations matters such as collective bargaining and union contract administration. · Coordinate and schedule labor-related meetings. · Prepare, organize, track, and maintain bargaining proposals and labor relations documentation. · Support contract implementation and grievance administration processes. · Handle sensitive labor relations information with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality. · This role requires regular access to confidential labor relations and collective bargaining materials. · Assist with the coordination and tracking of organizational legal matters, including compliance, risk management, and contracts. · Maintain and manage the CLO’s calendar as needed, including scheduling internal and external meetings, coordinating travel, and tracking deadlines. · Prepare and organize materials for meetings, including agendas, presentations, and supporting documents. · Provide administrative support to the Chief Legal Officer in overseeing the legal practice of the organization. · Provide administrative and technological support to the Director of Litigation in overseeing the legal practice of the organization. · Provide administrative support for the handling of confidential management and personnel matters related to legal practice staffing and supervision. · Track deadlines and proactively flag upcoming dates. · Coordinate meetings, trainings, and internal events, including preparing agendas and materials. · Monitor, manage, and draft correspondence, prioritizing time-sensitive matters and ensuring appropriate follow-up. · Provide litigation support, including document preparation (drafting, formatting, proofreading), exhibit organization, service of process, court and agency filings, maintenance of case files and electronic records, timekeeping, expense tracking, and reporting as needed. · Leverage Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Copilot), Adobe, Legal Server, and other platforms to manage documents, integrate and implement technology tools, and optimize workflows. · Maintain templates, document automation tools, and standardized processes. · Develop familiarity with and use of legal practice procedures and forms, and respond effectively to related inquiries. · Must demonstrate a high level of comfort and commitment to working with people from marginalized communities. · Work closely with the assigned supervisor and participate in regular supervision meetings, including work plan development and grant deliverable management. · Ability to work in the office and the community, as determined by the supervisor. · Ability to travel occasionally, as needed. · As a nonprofit with limited resources, all staff are expected to perform administrative and other support-related duties to serve our clients and fulfill our mission. · Other duties as assigned by the supervisor and/or to meet the organization’s needs. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) · Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as an Executive Assistant, Legal Assistant, or Paralegal in a legal or non-profit setting. · Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion and professionalism. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Willingness to gain extensive knowledge of procedures to communicate effectively with staff, management, attorneys, clients, courts, and external partners. · Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Copilot), Adobe, and document management systems, with the ability to manage calendars, documents, and collaborative workflows. · Experience with Legal Server is a plus. · Comfort learning and using new technologies, including emerging tools that support legal and administrative work. · Ability to draft routine correspondence, perform basic mathematical calculations, and maintain and organize record-keeping and filing systems. · Willingness to experiment with new tools, provide feedback, and adapt workflows as technology evolves · Strong familiarity with litigation processes, legal terminology, and legal formatting. · Skilled at proofreading, editing, electronic file management, and scheduling. · Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. · Ability to work independently and collaboratively with attorneys and staff in a team-based environment. · Experience in and commitment to working with diverse and impoverished clientele. POSITION OVERVIEW The Operations Aide staff will provide overall supervision and support in the residential program to ensure the seamless and safe operations of the facility, client schedule, and client transportation to and from all scheduled appointments. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Responsible for the operations of the facility to promote safety, security, and adherence to the program schedule for clients and staff., • Facilitates and engages clients in individual and group educational discussions essential to daily living skills, including personal hygiene, learning new task or skills and similar information about important life skill., • Coordinates and verifies client movement throughout the facility including to and from restrooms, classrooms, activity room, program outdoor spaces, and all off-site/outdoor events, activities and appointments., • Reports incidents, accidents, and clients concerns or problems to appropriate management and clinical staff., • Documents status of facility in proper logbook., • Monitors clients conduct and overall behavior during tour of duty., • Searches and distributes client’s property and mail while conducting inspections for contraband according to established organizational policy., • Conducts crisis intervention techniques to client’s exhibiting disruptive/unusual behavior., • Engages “de-escalation” intervention with client’s exhibiting acting-out behaviors., • Conducts rounds on an hourly basis to assess clients conduct plus ensure the ongoing safety and cleanliness of the facility., • Attends and participates in all required educational trainings to develop skills and techniques., • Remains on duty always until assigned relief arrives., • Assist in the implementation of program operations improvements and treatment upgrades including policy changes, room reassignments, etc., • Other duties as assigned within the scope of operations functional duties.
