Teaching Artist Part-Time Opportunity for those who are willing + excited to train + implement the Dance to Unite teaching Method. Dance to Unite provides the opportunity to train and gain the skills to become a paid Dance to Unite teaching artist in NYC public schools. Requirements of Dance to Unite Teaching Artists: • Based in Brooklyn, New York City (Homecrest teaching location available), • Background in dance and teaching children., • Ability to lead a dance class and teach choreography independently., • Availability Friday afternoons for a 1 hour class., • Commitment to part time opportunity from October 2025-June 2026., • Passion for working with children., • Team player mentality., • Reliable and responsive communication.

About the Role The Lead Teacher provides instructional leadership and a nurturing, developmentally appropriate classroom aligned to NYC DOE early childhood standards. Key Duties Plan and deliver daily lessons aligned to UPK/3K frameworks; differentiate for individual needs. Create a warm, culturally responsive classroom; maintain routines, visuals, centers, and materials. Observe, document, and assess children’s progress; maintain portfolios and progress reports. Collaborate with Assistant Teacher/Helper; model best practices and delegate tasks effectively. Communicate regularly with families; lead conferences, newsletters, and classroom updates. Ensure health, safety, and supervision at all times; adhere to DOE/DOH policies. Participate in monthly staff development; implement feedback and program initiatives. Support referrals and in-class services for children receiving special education/related services.

Teaching Kids Grades K-5 to learn and improve at chess. Classes for different grades are held after school at 3pm-4pm. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in Riverdale with selected days off for school holidays and clerical days Thursdays in Mamaroneck 3:45-4:45pm Salary is commensurate with experience. Some experience as a tournament player is necessary. Minimum rating is 1200: If you do not know what this means you are probably not the right fit for this opportunity. One hour of unpaid training will be required. Starting Early September. Classes run September 2025 through June 2026!

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Middle School Mathematics Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage students in grades 6–8 through effective instruction, innovative lesson planning, and a passion for mathematics. The teacher will foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver daily mathematics lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and state standards. Teach mathematical concepts such as ratios, proportions, integers, geometry, algebraic thinking, data analysis, and probability. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students. Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, tests, classwork, homework, and projects. Use technology and interactive tools to enhance math instruction and student engagement. Maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment that supports learning and promotes positive behavior. Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and colleagues regarding student progress and behavior. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary projects and school-wide initiatives. Attend professional development workshops, faculty meetings, and school events as required. Maintain accurate and timely student records, including grades, attendance, and behavior. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred). Valid state teaching certification in Middle School Mathematics (or eligible). Prior teaching experience in a middle school setting is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of middle school math content and pedagogy. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Proficiency with educational technology tools (e.g., Google Classroom, SMART Boards, etc.). Preferred Skills: Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices. Familiarity with Common Core State Standards or equivalent. Ability to foster a growth mindset and a love of mathematics in students. Collaborative and team-oriented attitude.
