What We Offer - $20 to $50 per hour as a non-exclusive, part-time paralegal (1099) - Extensive training and support - The opportunity to learn more about Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Probate - Full-time employment based on performance What We Are Looking For - A paralegal in NY that takes pride in superior results for their clients, the firm, and their own lives/career - Experience in Estate Planning, Elder Law, and/or Probate – or an interest in learning Estate Planning, Elder Law, and/or Probate - You must be able to come into our office, at mutually agreed upon times, for training and staff meetings - Someone with a happy, outgoing demeanor – or curmudgeon with a good game-face – that can put anxious clients at ease. - Curious, self-starter Educational/Experience Requirements - Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential - Ability to make a strong professional impression on the telephone and in-person - Proficiency in Microsoft Word - Strong professional judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills - Ability to communicate professionally to internal and external clients - Proactiveness, resourcefulness, and a strong work ethic - Ability to work independently and multi-task required - Excellent time management skills Your Responsibilities - Track multiple matters from beginning to end, including last action completed, next action to do, and highlight any matters that have stalled. - Prepare/draft court documents for Probate/Administration matters - Submit documents to the court electronically - Identify and collect missing information from clients, and instructions from court clerks - Design and/or draft Wills, Trusts, and other Estate Planning documents - Attend in-person client meetings at our office
