We are currently seeking a Patient Transporter to support our clinic in El Cajon, CA. This position, reporting to the Transportation Director, is an excellent opportunity for someone excited to make an immediate and lasting impact in a growing company. Position Overview We're looking for an outgoing and friendly person who loves to drive to be our Patient Transporter. Excellent customer service, hospitality and driving skills are critical as you will be providing patients with transportation from their homes to the Revive Pathway Clinic and back home on a daily basis. We are looking for someone who demonstrates patience and compassion since our clinic often sees patients when they are feeling their worst. It is important that our staff believe in our patients so they can learn to believe in themselves. A non-judgmental approach is key. While a kind heart is a requirement, an organized mind is also needed for this position. Indian Preference applies. Qualified Indian (American Indian or Alaska Native) applicants will receive preference in accordance with 25 U.S.C. § 5323 and 25 U.S.C. § 472a.Minimum Requirements • 21 years of age or older., • High School diploma or equivalent to diploma., • Must be extremely reliable and punctual., • Possess a valid California State Driver’s license Class C endorsement to pass DOT MCSA 5876 and MCSA 5875 and meet eligibility requirements for insurance coverage., • No DUI convictions within the last 15 years., • Provide proof of a clean driving record., • Effective communication; written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution., • Ability to pass extensive criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening., • Ability to complete First Aid and CPR certification within the first 60 days of employment., • Ability to provide health and TB clearance.Preferred Requirements, • 1-2 years or more in medical / or non-medical transport, passenger transport, or relevant role preferred.Required Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities, • Transport patients from their places of residence in San Diego County and specifically the El Cajon surrounding area to Revive Pathway and back home on a daily basis., • Ensures that patient transportation is conducted with the utmost care and in full compliance with all traffic laws and regulations., • Complete daily safety checks of all vehicles and maintain operational records of maintenance and safety checks., • Instructs passengers in requisite safety precautions and practices while being transported., • Establishes and maintains communication with patients and coworkers to improve quality of service and customer satisfaction., • Comforts patients and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and cultural sensitivity., • Respects and protects patient confidence and confidentiality., • Follows all protocols and procedures to ensure safe delivery of patients and their possessions., • Reports all passenger behavior issues to management., • Demonstrated customer–first attitude and philosophy., • Ability to make judgments in demanding situations., • Ability to react to frequent changes in duties and volume of work., • Effective oral and written communication skills., • Ability to listen empathetically., • Ability to logically organize details., • Commitment to respectful patient and family centered care., • Commitment to patient confidentiality., • Commitment to patient safety., • Maintain professional and congenial attitude toward coworkers, patients, agencies, and members in the community., • Assist patients with disabilities on and off the transportation vehicle., • Complete transportation data tracking forms to log number of patients driven daily, daily no shows, and other grant related data tracking as needed., • Complete and document daily vehicle inspections., • Complete weekly, monthly, or quarterly vehicle cleaning and service visits for regular vehicle maintenance., • Work under the supervision of the Transportation Director and communicate any safety concerns in real time as well as any required incident reports.
