Job DescriptionJob Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Utica, New York Shift: Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) Schedule: 3 shifts/week (36 hours) Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity, fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, prior travel experience, and experience working with pediatric patients while delivering quality care across all age groups. Key Responsibilities • Perform rapid patient assessments and triage based on acuity level., • Provide direct patient care for emergency conditions including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and respiratory cases., • Initiate and manage life-saving interventions (CPR, ACLS protocols, emergency medications)., • Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition., • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately., • Assist with emergency procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and trauma care., • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans., • Operate and monitor specialized equipment (e.g., cardiac monitors, defibrillators, rapid infusers)., • Provide care across all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients., • Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions., • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in EPIC EMR., • Serve as a resource or charge nurse when required (preferred)., • Participate in code teams and rapid response situations., • Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control protocols, and organizational policies.Qualifications, • Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Department experience., • Pediatric (PEDS) experience required., • Prior travel experience required., • Charge nurse experience – Highly preferred., • Experience with EPIC EMR – Required.Certifications, • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support), • AHA PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale), • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) About Navitas Healthcare, LLC: It is a certified WBENC and one of the fastest-growing healthcare staffing firms in the US providing Medical, Clinical and Non-Clinical services to numerous hospitals.
