Position Summary The Legal Assistant / Paralegal supports 3-4 attorneys in all phases of personal injury cases, with a strong emphasis on pre-litigation, litigation, and trial support. This position is intended for experienced candidates who can manage complex case files, anticipate attorney needs, and work independently while providing high-level support to clients and the legal team. Key Responsibilities • Support attorneys in all phases of personal injury matters, including pre-litigation, litigation, and trial, • Manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision, • Conduct detailed client intake and maintain consistent client communication throughout the life of the case, • Draft, review, and prepare legal documents including correspondence, pleadings, discovery responses, motions, subpoenas, and settlement demand packages, • Request, review, organize, and summarize medical records, medical bills, wage records, police reports, and expert materials, • Prepare and submit settlement demands and assist with negotiation support, • Track and manage all case deadlines, including statutes of limitation, discovery deadlines, and court-imposed timelines, • File documents with courts and administrative agencies (electronic and/or in person), • Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, independent medical examinations, and client appointments, • Communicate professionally with insurance adjusters, medical providers, experts, court staff, and opposing counsel, • Maintain accurate, well-organized, and up-to-date case files in the firm’s case management system, • Assist with trial preparation, including trial notebooks, exhibits, witness lists, subpoenas, and courtroom logistics, • Ensure strict compliance with confidentiality, ethical rules, and firm procedures Required Qualifications • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in a personal injury law firm, • Demonstrated experience handling cases through pre-litigation, litigation, and trial preparation, • Strong knowledge of personal injury law, procedures, and timelines, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), • Professional demeanor with strong client-service and problem-solving skills Core Competencies • Time management and multitasking, • Client-focused mindset, • Attention to detail and accuracy, • Reliability and accountability, • Team collaboration Work Environment This position is based in a professional office setting and involves frequent interaction with clients, medical providers, and legal professionals.
