Litigation Paralegal Woodland Hills (Los Angeles), California | Full-Time About the Firm Foster Graham Milstein & Calisher, LLP (FGMC) is a well-established law firm expanding into the Los Angeles market. We are seeking an experienced litigation support professional to join our growing California team. The Opportunity FGMC is seeking a full-time Litigation Paralegal with 2- 4 years of experience to join our civil litigation practice group in our Los Angeles office. This role is integral to our defense litigation team - we need someone who thinks critically, works independently, and can help us find the needle in a haystack across complex case files. You will support attorneys through all phases of litigation, from case intake and discovery through trial preparation and beyond. Key Responsibilities • Draft and prepare pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and standard litigation documents, including expert witness-related filings, • Manage and organize case files, discovery documents, and document productions, • Prepare medical chronologies and discovery summaries, • Draft and process subpoenas for documents, including government entity subpoenas for notices of violations, • Assist with the retention and coordination of expert witnesses, • Support attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials, including assembling trial binders, • Process medical record requests and organize medical records, • E-file documents in California state courts and federal courts (including CM/ECF), • Docket and calendar case deadlines and court dates, • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, vendors, and firm staff, • 2 - 4 years of civil litigation paralegal experience, preferably in California defense litigation, • Familiarity with California rules of civil procedure and local court rules in state and federal court, • Experience with e-filing in California state courts and federal courts (CM/ECF), • Proficiency with PDF processing software (Adobe Acrobat, Kofax, or similar) for Bates numbering, headers/footers, redaction, and document assembly, • Strong writing and verbal communication skills, • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, • Attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach, • Team player with a dependable, “can-do” work ethic, • Experience with the discovery process, including document production and management Preferred: • Experience with Everlaw or other e-discovery platforms, • Document management system experience, • Ability to format appellate briefs, including Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities, • Knowledge of medical terminology, • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, • Health savings account (HSA) and flexible spending accounts (FSA), • Life insurance, • Short-term and long-term disability insurance, • Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays, • California paid sick leave in accordance with state law, • 401(k) retirement plan with profit-sharing, • Identity theft protection Equal Employment Opportunity Foster Graham Milstein & Calisher, LLP is an equal opportunity employer.
