Duties/Responsibilities: • Ensures that the rules and regulations of the swimming pool are followed to maintain a safe swimming environment., • Administers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and uses automated external defibrillator (AED) when needed., • Performs occasional pool cleaning and maintenance tasks such as vacuuming the pool and cleaning the drains., • Provides customer service to patrons, including handling customer conflict and complaints, as necessary., • Operates equipment safely and reports any unsafe work conditions or practice to supervisor., • Maintains pool area, proper use of pool equipment and daily logs, records pool temperature and chemical levels., • Maintains all required certifications, attends course to completion and all staff training sessions to practice skills and learn program standards. Required Skills/Abilities: • Knowledge of and ability to administer or use first aid, CPR, AED, and other lifesaving techniques., • Excellent observational skills., • Must have flexible schedule that will allow working dayshifts, weekends and some holidays., • Ability to enforce pool regulations and rules. Education and Experience: • Must possess a valid Lifeguard / AED / CPR First-Aid Certification., • Must be 16 years of age or older (working papers), • Lifeguarding experience preferred.
