Job DescriptionWorkers' Compensation / No-Fault Accounts Receivable Representative Pay: $20-$23/hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM (37.5 hours/week) Start Date: Late December/Early January (Tentative) Location: Remote (New York State experience required) Type: 5-Month Contract-to-Hire through Medix Staffing About the Role We're looking for an experienced Workers' Comp / No-Fault A/R Representative to support a large healthcare organization. This role is ideal for someone who knows New York State payer rules and has hands-on experience working medical claims from start to finish. You'll handle follow-ups on aging accounts, resolve denials, post payments, and collaborate with other departments to ensure clean, timely billing. If you're detail-oriented, comfortable in a fast-paced billing environment, and want a role that could lead to a permanent position, we'd love to connect. What You'll Do * Work aging reports and follow up on outstanding insurance and patient balances. * Submit appeals for denied or underpaid claims; resolve rejections quickly and accurately. * Contact insurance companies, patients, and third-party payers to resolve billing issues. * Accurately post payments, adjustments, and write-offs within set timelines. * Maintain current knowledge of payer policies (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial). * Document all account activity and maintain up-to-date patient records in the billing system. * Partner with coding, front office, and medical records teams to resolve claim issues. * Meet productivity and collection targets consistently. * Provide excellent customer service when addressing patient inquiries. * Ensure compliance with HIPAA and all organizational and regulatory requirements. What We're Looking For * 2+ years of medical billing experience (Workers' Comp and No-Fault required). * Epic EMR experience preferred; Meditech or Paragon experience also a plus. * Strong understanding of NYS payer guidelines. * Comfortable working independently while meeting team goals. * Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills. Assignment Details * Contract Length: 5-month contract with the possibility of hire * Start Date: Late December/Early January * Equipment: Provided by client * IT Deposit: $30/week withheld for the first 10 weeks (refunded in full when equipment is returned) Employment Details You'll be employed by Medix Staffing during your assignment. If you're converted to the client, you'll transition to their payroll and benefits.
