The Role: We’re seeking an experienced sales professional to drive new business development for our Purchase Order Management (POM) solutions. The ideal candidate is an Illinois‑based seasoned global supply chain sales professional with 3-5 years of industry sales experience selling POM solutions or supplier management solutions. You will bring an established network of manufacturers, vendors, suppliers, and external sourcing partners, and know how to leverage those relationships to create value for customers on day one. You will position and sell purchase order solutions that span the full PO lifecycle from PO creation/approval, supplier confirmations, milestone tracking, and exception management (delays, shortages, changes) to goods receipt visibility and seamless handoff to downstream logistics and AP matching. You’ll focus on acquiring new customer accounts and expanding their engagement through cross‑selling our broader suite of solutions. What You’ll Do • Hunt and win new business in the Midwest area, generating a steady flow of new business across target verticals (e.g., retail, apparel, electronics, industrial)., • Leverage your network of manufacturers, vendors, suppliers and external sourcing partners/customer procurement to build multi‑party value for prospects (supplier performance, reliability, and visibility) and accelerate time‑to‑revenue., • Lead outbound prospecting (cold outreach, events, referrals, social) and qualify opportunities; maintain pipeline coverage and progress deals through multi‑stage sales cycles., • Run consultative, value‑based sales motions that map customer procurement, sourcing, logistics, inventory, and AP (invoice matching) workflows to our POM solution set., • Quantify impact (e.g., on‑time PO performance, exception reduction, days‑to‑confirm, inventory availability, compliance/audit readiness, working capital)., • Align with internal experts to develop compelling demos, proposals, and RFI/RFQ responses; deliver executive‑level presentations., • Cross‑sell complementary services (air/ocean, domestic transportation, customs brokerage) when they strengthen the POM value proposition., • Partner with internal teams for RFI/RFQ preparations and deliver presentations of tailored solutions to interested customers., • Maintain accurate CRM hygiene (activities, contacts, opportunities, next steps, forecasts) and provide weekly pipeline and activity updates., • End‑to‑end PO lifecycle visibility: creation/approval → supplier confirmation → production/shipment milestones → receipt confirmation., • Exception management: proactive alerts for delays, shortages, changes, and non‑conformance; collaborative resolution with suppliers., • Supplier performance & compliance: confirmations, OTIF, lead‑time adherence, and audit‑ready documentation., • Integration touchpoints: procurement, inventory planning, and logistics execution (air/ocean/domestic, CHB)., • Residence in Illinois and ability to travel across the state/region., • 3-5 years' experience in supply chain/logistics sales or procurement solutions sales., • Experienced in successfully selling Purchase Order Management, Supplier Management, or procure‑to‑pay visibility solutions (not just general forwarding)., • Demonstrated hunter track record: consistent new‑business wins and attainment of revenue targets in multi‑stakeholder, complex sales., • Established relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers you can leverage immediately to create customer value., • Fluency in procurement and POM concepts: PO issuance/approval, supplier confirmation, milestone tracking, exception management, and AP matching readiness., • Strong executive presence; consultative discovery; business‑case building; negotiation and closing skills., • CRM discipline and proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint)., • Externally: manufacturers, vendors/suppliers, customer procurement/sourcing, supply chain/logistics, inventory/warehouse, and finance/AP stakeholders., • Medical & Dental: 100% company-paid, • Vision coverage option, • This role comes with an $8,400 annual car allowance, • 401(k) Retirement Plan + Pension Plan, • PTO & Separate Paid Sick Time, and Personal Days, • Paid Major Holidays, • Tuition Assistance (after 12 months), • Employee Assistance Program The annualized base compensation for this position is $123,000.00 excluding fringe benefits. If hired at OOCL Logistics, the final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we also consider internal equity as part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
