Job Description Job Title: Director of Warehouse Operations Department: Warehouse Operations Reports to: VP of Logistics Position Overview The Director of Warehouse Operations is a critical, high visibility role within UC Group’s growing organization. This position will be strategically responsible for building our warehouse operations to World Class standards and tactically responsible for leading our warehouse operations teams on daily activities such as scheduling, real-time operations management and meeting productivity standards which facilitate the maximization of resources, both human and automated, to achieve customer satisfaction, productivity, schedule adherence and economic goals. Coach and counsel Direct Reports to improve overall performance, while promoting an open-door environment. Key Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective matter in accordance with established company policies to achieve overall objectives of the position, • Supervise warehouse personnel and set direction and initiatives for process improvements, • Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, training, and development, • Ensure increasing levels of customer satisfaction while improving the efficiency of manpower and materials, • Provide leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships, • Participate in daily, weekly, monthly, and annual planning process as appropriate, • Standardize procedures across all facilities/warehouses, • Recruit and hire new workers while also overseeing the activities of staff to ensure that operations flow smoothly, • Interface with other departments to increase efficiencies and foster teamwork, • Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision, • Responsible for overseeing OSHA and safety compliance, • Enact contingency plans as needed; direct activities during problematic times, identify potential problems, troubleshoot, and participate in analysis of problems, • Maintain a favorable working relationship with company employees to promote a harmonious work environment which will be conducive to maximize employee morale, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness, • Determine standards of performance as a basis to review progress of personnel Skills and Requirements • Minimum of 5 years’ experience including forecasting, scheduling, and real-time operations management., • Experience in supervision and staff development, • Ability to manage several buildings within the US, • Experience in equipment management, • Safety Program implementation experience, • KPI responsibility, • Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others, • Ability to think ahead and plan over a specific time span, • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, • Must work well with management, peers, and subordinates, • Strong customer service skills to provide excellent service to the enterprise, • Problem analysis and problem resolution skills, • Quality management and attention to detail, • Employee training and development experience, • Establish high performance teams and a strong team player, • Willingness to travel, • Microsoft office skills, • System savvy, TMS, WMS, • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, warehouse operations, distribution, business, and management principles, • Position requires strong analytical, interpersonal and project management skills, along with being a strong team player, • High sense of urgency and the ability to resolve issues promptly with exceptional follow up skills, • Demonstrated leadership skills and ownership of assigned tasks and goal, • Ability to work independently and to prioritize tasks to ensure objectives and timelines are met, • Must be adaptable and flexible in their thought process, • Must be well organized, capable of handling a variety of issues and assignments, • Must live within the Chicagoland region - No relocation This position offers a competitive salary in the range of $125,000 to $135,000 annually.
