Job Description Job Summary: Under the supervision and guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor/Planner, this position supports the maintenance organization for performing repairs, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and installations on rotating equipment and support systems (Compressors). This position involves working in and around operating units as well as shop work. Performs maintenance in all areas of the plant on a scheduled or emergency including call outs. Strong safety culture is a must and adherence to safety policies, plans and requirements is a must This is a Safety Sensitive Position. Essential Functions: • Competently perform machine alignment – pumps, compressors, blowers/fans, etc., • Ability to rebuild API, ANSI pumps, compressors, air coolers, steam turbines, gearboxes, etc., • Be trained in or ability to be trained in industrial (forklift) truck, man lifts, etc., • Ability to troubleshoot and identify problems and issues with equipment, • Identify and repair problematic parts of a machine, • Be able to balance rotating assemblies, • Ability to assist in developing maintenance and preventive maintenance procedures and training materials for rotating equipment., • Adherence to Company procedures, policies and industry standards, • Perform preventative maintenance activities by identifying and correcting potential issues., • Performs additional tasks and duties as assigned and trained, • Knowledge of vibration analysis, • Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and inspections, to prevent breakdowns., • Diagnosing and repairing malfunctions, replacing worn or damaged parts, and troubleshooting complex issues., • Precisely aligning machinery components, such as gears, shafts, and couplings, to ensure smooth operation., • Interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to understand machinery layouts and specifications., • Adhering to strict safety protocols and regulations when working with machinery and equipment. Required Skills/Abilities: • Safety Awareness: Ability to recognize and identify potential hazards., • Must hold a Driver License with excellent driving record and be able to pass pre-employment background screening and drug screening, • Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurement, • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals, • Good verbal and written communication skills, • Be able to respond to emergency calls as needed including weekend and evenings, • Must be available for call outs including weekends, holidays and nights, • Ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of Company personnel, • Capable of operating manlift, • Basic understanding of HSSE requirements including confined space entry, lock out/tag out, fall protection, etc., • Knowledge of general maintenance and repair, • Ability to use hand tools and power tools, • Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail, • Excellent organizational, time management skills and attention to detail, • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment Supervisory Responsibilities: • None Education and Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required, • Vocational school; or apprenticeship preferred, • 6+ years experience as a Journeyman, • 6+ years experience in refinery environment, • Operate Fork-lift/Manlift/Scissor-Lift, • Understand Industrial Math, • Ability to use Oxy/Acetylene welding/cutting equipment, • Operate/Understand Manual & Hydraulic bolting equipment, • Have industrial knowledge of gas compressors and repairs, • Understand Vibration analysis and cause and effect factors, • Have industrial knowledge of gas compressors and repairs Physical Requirements: • Must be able to pass a physical test of pushing, pulling, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs, • Prolonged periods of standing and walking, • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items, • Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time, • Must be able to climb ladders and or stairs on tanks, vessels and structures; wear respirator; work around equipment containing high pressures and temperatures and various chemicals, • Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces, • Wear fire-retardant clothing and other personal protective equipment, such as SCBA, steel-toe shoes and ear and eye protection, • Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring equipment and materials Other duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
