The Director Demand Planning is responsible for managing the S&OP process to drive the volume forecast for enterprise planning and execution. Accountabilities: • Own the development and execution of the demand planning strategy across all channels and product categories., • Lead the creation of unconstrained and constrained demand plans, incorporating seasonality, promotional lifts, and long-range planning assumptions., • Manage demand planning horizons extending 36 months to support fresh pack and long-cycle production decisions., • Establish and continuously improve statistical forecasting models tailored to high seasonality and variability., • Partner with Supply Planning, Agriculture, and Procurement teams to align demand with fresh pack production cycles and crop forecasts., • Translate pre-season demand forecasts into production requirements for annual or semi-annual pack decisions., • Lead the Demand Review as part of the monthly S&OP process., • Ensure alignment between Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain on the consensus forecast., • Present demand risks, opportunities, and gap-closure actions to executive leadership., • Drive accountability across stakeholders for forecast inputs and assumptions., • Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to incorporate promotions, new product launches, and customer-specific insights into the demand plan., • Provide analytics on baseline vs. incremental demand, promotional effectiveness, and customer behavior., • Challenge assumptions and improve forecast accuracy through data-driven insights., • Own forecast accuracy (e.g., MAPE, bias) and continuously improve performance through root cause analysis., • Implement segmentation strategies (e.g., ABC/XYZ, lifecycle, seasonality profiles) to tailor forecasting approaches., • Leverage advanced analytics, demand sensing, and external data., • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing demand planning team., • Establish clear roles, KPIs, and development plans., • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration Minimum Skills Required: • BA/BS in Business, Logistics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or similar quantitative disciplines required., • APICS certification preferred., • Consumer products, grocery, or mass merchandising experience a plus., • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in supply chain with at least 3-4 years in Demand Planning or managing a forecasting process in a related field., • Strong leadership skills (team facilitation, consensus building, project leadership, and project execution)., • Strong communication skills (oral/verbal, written reports, presentations) and able to interact with people in various levels of the organization., • Solid understanding of Retail/CPG demand/supply chain, particularly in the areas of shipment forecasting, consumption analysis and forecasting, inventory management, trade promotions, market/category analysis, statistical forecasting, etc., • Exceptionally strong analytical, process and people skills with previous forecasting experience., • Self-starter with continuous improvement mindset in a dynamic environment., • Experience with SAP APO, ERP, and Anaplan advanced planning and forecasting applications.
