Job Description Hidden Level is transforming airspace safety with innovative, scalable drone detection and airspace technology. We provide real-time, actionable data to enhance security across various environments. As we expand, we're looking for a Senior FPGA Firmware Design Engineer who will apply their skills to design and develop HDL architectures for cutting-edge sensor and communication systems. Location: This position can be hybrid and/or onsite in Syracuse, NY office. Responsibilities: • Architect and design HDL solutions for the latest Xilinx FPGAs and SoC devices such as Virtex Ultrascale+ and Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoCs, • Create and implement HDL components for data acquisition, digital signal processing, command and control, external hardware interfaces, high-speed communication protocols such as Ethernet and PCIe, and more, • Perform timing closure and create well-constrained, maintainable solutions that are easily extensible and employ an efficient use of resources, • Integrate and test new designs in simulation, lab, and field environments, • Use Python, TCL, and other scripting languages to automate and improve workflows, • Participation in collaborative, cross functional design and code reviews, • Aid in the creation and review of requirements and develop solutions to meet design goals What We’re Looking For: • Desire to work in a small, dedicated team passionate about solving challenging problems and delivering results, • Ability to collaborate with Software, Systems, Mechanical, and RF engineers to design and improve embedded firmware systems, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and overcome technical challenges through teamwork and collaboration, • Excellent written and oral communication skills, coupled with the ability to listen, question, and understand stakeholder needs Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, • 6+ years of related professional experience, • Proficiency with VHDL and/or Verilog to configure FPGAs and other embedded systems, • Experience writing thorough, self-checking testbenches for automated unit-test, • 10% travel Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with:, • Communication, Radar, and other Sensor systems, • Real-time control of RF front-end, memories, high-speed interfaces, and other hardware components, • Xilinx FPGAs and the Vivado design environment and capabilities, • Matlab, Simulink, HDLCoder, and Xilinx System Generator, • Digital Signal Processing, Software Defined Radios, and RF System Design Compensation and Benefits: Hidden Level offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid parental leave, flexible time off, 401(k) with employer contributions, life insurance, and disability insurance. Salary Range: The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $109,000 to $133,000 annually. As we expand, we're looking for a Digital Hardware Engineer who will apply their skills and experience to lead the design of custom hardware and firmware for cutting-edge sensor and communication systems. Location: This position is located in the Syracuse, NY office with the potential for hybrid arrangements. Responsibilities: • Design and implement custom multi-layer circuit cards by performing part selection, schematic design, and aiding in layout activities, • Maintain component libraries and create new parts for schematic capture, • Perform functional test and verification activities for new hardware and aid in production transition and support, • Design HDL solutions for the latest Xilinx FPGAs and SoC devices, • Perform timing closure and create well constrained, maintainable solutions that are easily extensible and employ an efficient use of resources, • Use scripting languages such as Python and Bash to automate and improve workflows What We’re Looking For: • A desire to own project assignments and work creatively and collaboratively on cross-disciplinary teams to deliver solutions that impress our customers and move our industry forward., • An open-minded approach to solving challenges, and proactive development of backup plans to ensure the team can hit the mark even when encountering the unexpected., • A mindset trained on long-term goals and objectives, balanced with making demonstratable incremental steps along the way to meet the pace of our industry., • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to efficiently convey complex ideas, coupled with an ability to listen, question, and understand stakeholder needs.
