Job Description Job Title: HVAC Technician Job Description Join our dynamic Facilities Management team as an HVAC Mechanic I or II, where you will play a vital role in maintaining, repairing, and operating HVAC equipment. You will work with electronic control systems, self-contained air conditioning units, and refrigeration equipment in laboratories and dining facilities. Responsibilities • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all HVAC equipment including fan coil units, air handling units, and VAV boxes., • Repair and replace expansion valves, compressors, motors, and coils., • Check HVAC distribution systems for proper velocity, volume, temperature, and pressure., • Provide technical assistance with the design and modification of HVAC systems., • Complete preventive maintenance on HVAC and some refrigeration systems., • Evaluate HVAC systems for performance and safety standards., • Adjust and repair pneumatic, electric, and electronic control components., • Supervise and control equipment via building automation systems., • Requisition job parts and supplies., • Read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams., • Strong communication skills and ability to perform tasks with minimal direction., • Ability to work independently and make decisions regarding corrective actions., • Professional management of interactions with challenging customers., • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate reports and records., • Physical ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and lift 40 pounds., • High School diploma or GED required., • Graduation from a trade school or apprenticeship program as an HVAC or Air Conditioning mechanic., • Minimum of three years' experience as a journeyman level HVAC mechanic, with preference for large institutional settings., • EPA CFC Universal certification required., • For HVAC II: Minimum of four years' experience and City of Pittsburgh Stationary Engineers License required. Work Environment This full-time position is based in Pittsburgh, PA, requiring flexibility to work rotating shifts: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am, with 10-hour shifts available for the 2nd and 3rd shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Pittsburgh, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $78020.80 - $78020.80/yr.
