Job Description Job Overview of Campus Crisis Support Staff The Campus Crisis Support Staff are responsible for maintaining a safe, predictable and therapeutic environment for children on campus enrolled in our day and residential programs. Campus Crisis Support Staff provide close supervision, instruction, counseling, and proactive support to all children during program activities. They will assist children with transitions, intervene when there are conflicts between children, and respond to crisis when needed. The AOD and/or Captain of Campus Crisis Support will assign appropriate posts and daily assignments based on the evolving campus needs. In addition to a zealous legal defense, our interdisciplinary teams of attorneys, social workers and advocates provide a wide range of legal and advocacy services, including for housing, public benefits, education, and employment. SUMMARY Under the general direction of the program director or designee, the Residence Program Specialist is responsible for supporting the care, development, and independence of individuals living in an ADAPT Community Network residential facility. This role fosters dignity, respect, and learning while helping to create a safe, supportive, and homelike environment. The Residence Program Specialist provides direct support, skill-building, and advocacy to ensure that the people we support achieve their personal goals and enjoy the highest quality of life possible. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of the Residential Program Specialist will include, but are not limited to the following: • Provides care and supports the people we support in achieving greater independence and personal development., • Ensures the safety, health, and well-being of the people we support at all times., • Teaches and assists with activities of daily living (ADLs), including self-help, social, and community living skills., • Maintains a personalized, homelike, and respectful atmosphere within the residence., • Participates actively in interdisciplinary treatment plans and implements individualized program goals., • Documents daily activities, progress notes, incident reports, and other required records accurately and in a timely manner., • Responds to crisis situations and medical emergencies, including providing first aid and contacting emergency personnel as needed., • Contacts emergency personnel (police, fire, ambulance) when necessary to ensure safety of the people we support and staff., • Ensures all actions are conducted in a manner that prevents abuse, neglect, or exploitation, and immediately reports any concerns in accordance with agency policy., • Follows all OPWDD-approved behavior management guidelines, including use of approved interventions when required., • Administers medications as an Approved Medication Administration Personnel (AMAP), following agency protocols and under nursing supervision., • Provides transportation for the people we support to program, work, appointments, and recreational activities as needed., • Assists with meal planning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation to promote nutrition and independence., • Participates in housekeeping, laundry, and light maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment., • Attends and participates in staff meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions to support ongoing development and quality care., • Promotes dignity, respect, and person-centered approaches in all interactions with the people we support, families, and staff., • Maintains confidentiality of all resident information and documentation. Job DescriptionPURPOSE: The Jewish Board’s Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. Our staff uses a culturally competent, person centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resilience of our communities. Our children’s community residences are single site residence’s that provide a group living for eight children and/or adolescents. The program provides a supervised, trauma informed therapeutic environment which seeks to develop the resident's skills and capacity to live in the community and attend school/work as appropriate. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Assistant Director will work closely with the Program Director in providing leadership to the staff of the 4 Children Community Residences and will make certain that all program goals are implemented in line with Agency expectations and practices. KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (List the functions that are essential to achieve the goals): • Oversee and facilitate the weekly team meetings and ensure supervision is provided to the Team Leaders., • Uses available data to identify needs, provide guidance to program staff, and inform program of planning and quality service delivery, • Maintain the program to meet the needs of the residents in the program, including but not limited to physical environment, personal needs, food, healthcare, services, etc...., • Oversee direct care staff training and orientation., • Have an active role with other community agencies including but not limited to emergency responders and community neighbors., • Network with other mental health and child welfare agencies and attend OMH meeting accordingly., • Assist the Director in ensuring that all necessary programmatic systems are in place to meet client safety needs, both on and off the ground., • Oversee key administrative staff (Team Leaders) of the program and ensure appropriate completion/ compliance of such work., • Assist with adhering to the budgetary parameters of the program., • Participate in ITM implementation, • Assistant Director will directly supervise the Team Leader’s in all four Community Residences, • Assistant Director will be available by phone after hours in the event of program related issues that are required to be reported beyond the Administrator on Duty and will report to the Director as necessary., • Additional responsibilities directed.
