Job DescriptionJob Title: CNC Machinist Job Description The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts. This role involves producing metal parts of varying quantities and ensuring that the products meet precise specifications. Responsibilities • Operate machine tools such as saws, lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce metal parts., • Review electronic or written blueprints., • Calculate precise cutting or boring locations using measuring devices., • Position the workpiece accurately for cutting., • Determine the speed at which the workpiece is fed into the machine., • Assess how much material needs to be removed., • Select appropriate tools and materials for tasks., • Plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations., • Change out tooling blades as necessary.Essential Skills, • Expertise in CNC, CNC machine, CNC mill, mill, CNC machining, and CNC milling machine., • Proficiency with CNC Mill and CNC Lathe., • Familiarity with blueprint reading, drill press, shear, and machine operation., • Experience in lathe, CNC lathe, and CNC setup.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Preferably a 2-year vocational degree., • 2+ years of CNC machining experience., • Welding experience is preferred., • Strong mechanical aptitude.Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based in a manufacturing shop that involves welding, machining, assembly, packing, and shipping. The environment is non-climate controlled, so appropriate personal protective equipment such as steel toes, safety glasses, and jeans are required. The shift runs from 6am to 2:30pm, but flexibility is needed as the facility operates from 5am to 4:30pm almost every day, including some Saturdays. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, Kansas. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
