Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for working on industrial baking equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and managing breakdowns of mixers, ovens, chillers, conveyors, packaging equipment, baggers, servo motors, transfer systems, and compressors. You will utilize volt meters to detect electrical issues, read and reset HMI's, and diagnose problems with VFD's. Experience with 3-phase motors is essential, as is the ability to document activities in the maintenance log. Responsibilities • Perform preventative maintenance and repair on industrial baking equipment., • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using volt meters, HMI's, and VFD's., • Tear down and re-assemble machines as needed., • Fill out daily log reports, emergency breakdown reports, and work orders, and communicate with incoming shifts., • Work on vertical baggers, Tanney & Langdon cartoners, ink jet printers, and packaging equipment., • Read schematics and blueprints to diagnose and repair electrical issues., • Install, debug, and stabilize plant equipment., • Repair and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies, metal detectors, and scales., • Test electro-mechanical assemblies using test instruments., • Fabricate guards using measuring devices, cutting tools, and welders., • Install electronic parts and hardware using soldering equipment and hand tools., • 3-5 years of electrical and mechanical experience., • Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical issues using a volt meter., • Experience with swapping, repairing, and wiring motors for various equipment., • PLC Programming and advanced troubleshooting experience., • Boiler (steam) maintenance experience., • Welding - Stick and Tig experience. Work Environment The role is based on the 2nd shift (3PM - 11PM) and the 3rd shift (11:00PM - 7AM). You will work across all four buildings on site, which requires walking outside between them. A uniform will be provided after 90 days; until then, a t-shirt and jeans are appropriate attire. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
