Position Overview The Service & Install Lead Technician is responsible for leading service, support, and installation efforts for commercial AV and IT systems. This role serves as a technical lead between the warehouse, project team, and field operations, ensuring systems are properly built, tested, installed, commissioned, and supported to 3G standards. The Service & Install Lead Technician provides hands-on technical expertise, oversees logistics and labor coordination, supports sales and operations, and delivers exceptional customer service before, during, and after installation. This position requires strong technical knowledge, organization, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, support system deployments, and act as a primary technical resource for service-related activities. The Service & Install Lead Technician also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and supports warehouse operations and inventory management as needed. General Tasks / Duties Below is a general list of the tasks and duties: • Perform service and customer support on commercial AV/IT systems, • Assemble, configure, and test equipment racks for upcoming installs, • Maintain daily communication with Project Team on status of projects and task lists; provide feedback on progress of system installations, • Load software and commission systems for installed equipment, • Train customers on the operation of newly installed AV systems, • Coordinate RMA’s with manufacturers, • Receive shipments from manufacturers and confirm accuracy of shipments, • Provide after-hours client telephone support as needed, • Assist on installations as needed, • Perform shop FAT testing prior to system/component deployment, • Providing feedback and recommendations to Sales and Operations personnel to ensure the continuous improvement of our processes and technical capabilities, • Assist with service sale quotes and fulfillment, • Schedule and coordinate labor for warehouse, build, and onsite projects, • Assist with department records and archive, • Stay abreast of new products and technologies in the AV field and other related field(s), • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in commercial AV, IT systems, or related technical field, • Strong working knowledge of AV system installation, networking, service, commissioning, and troubleshooting, • Experience assembling, configuring, and testing equipment racks and integrated systems, • Familiarity with software loading, system commissioning, and factory acceptance testing (FAT), • Ability to train end users on newly installed AV systems in a clear and professional manner, • Experience coordinating RMAs, receiving shipments, and verifying equipment accuracy, • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with project managers, sales, operations, and warehouse teams, • Comfortable providing after-hours support as required, • Experience supporting or coordinating labor scheduling, logistics, and inventory, • Ability to assist with service sale quoting and fulfillment, • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills, • Proficiency with Q-SYS a plus, • Full-time position, • Schedule may vary based on events, including nights, weekends, and holidays, • Competitive base salary, • Performance-based annual bonus tied to operational metrics, key performance indicators (KPI’s) and company growth, • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, • 401(k) retirement plan with company match of 5%, • Paid time off and holiday schedule
