American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Montgomery, Alabama. • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 12/22/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 48 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Emergency Department position in a Level II Trauma Center, requiring BLS, ACLS, PALS, Secure/CPI, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications. • Position is in the Emergency Department of a hospital with 71 beds and high patient acuity, • Patient types include multi-system trauma, STEMI, stroke, CHF, COPD, GI, GU, OB/GYN, pediatrics, and psychiatric cases, • Staff to patient ratios are 1:4 in the ER, 1:5 for med-surg holds, and 1:3 for ICU holds, • Cerner EMR is used and prior experience is required, • Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitoring equipment are used, • Shift options include 12-hour days, nights, or mid-shifts with a 4-week schedule cycle, • Weekend rotation every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month if on block schedule, • No floating required, • No on-call responsibilities, • Orientation includes 24 hours of classroom and 24 hours of unit-based training for new travelers or returning travelers away for more than 1 year, • Support on the unit includes CNA (1:12 ratio), charge nurse, receptionist/HUC, phlebotomy up to 0300, IV/VAT team, and hospitalist, • One major and one minor holiday coverage is expected per scheduling policy, • Scrub attire is any solid color, • Free parking is available in a parking garage, • Up to 7 days of time off may be approved, excluding blackout dates, • Active AL or compact RN license required, • Minimum 2 years of ER or critical care experience with the most recent year in a Level II Trauma ER or higher, • Experience with Cerner or Epic EMR required, • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Secure/CPI (nationally recognized/JACHO accepted), NIHSS, and TNCC, • Skills needed include trach and vent care, ICU drip maintenance, chest tubes, art line, CVL, PICC, midline, port, foley, splint/Ortho device care, BiPAP/High Flow, and bladder irrigation, • Perm staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler, • First-time travelers accepted if they meet experience and EMR requirements, • No local candidates within a 60 mile radius eligible, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy, • Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-641628.
